hidden camera found in Travelodge shower - used for "maintenance"

A hidden video camera has been found in a Travelodge shower.

It was indeed disconnected and Travelodge claim its there for "maintenance" purposes.

Can anybody explain to me what use a webcam in a vent in shower could be used for maintenance?

As the vent would be sucking all the steam straight into the camera lens..

I've always assumed all hotel rooms are riddled with hidden cameras, never do anything remotely dodgy in them, including showering with no clothes on.

Also swimming pool changing rooms, they're full of cameras too.

if you're a bloke though then why worry - even if there are a bunch of cameras filming thousands of people over millions of hours of footage - who is going to be interested in seeing you naked? Probably no one... unless you're an attractive female aged 18-28 then there is little risk even if you were exposed...

I mean they could upload the footage to porn sites 'naked British bloke gets out of shower in travel lodge' and no one is going to be interested in it
