overpriced.. just get a kilo/two of myprotein/tpw or bulk powders protein and it'll be very similar!if you want protein shakes..
Bought them to try some out rather than buying a huge tub and finding out it doesn't agree with me!
Have a recommendation from a guy at work for Endura Full Monty gloves, but they don't look to have any thumb padding like I'm after... The Endura Dexters someone linked look ok but they don't look very 'fitted', part of the problem I have at the moment is my current pair the padding moves around...
Quite impressed with my 'sprint back into town' last night as I didn't think my legs would have it in them... 28mph on the short segment for it and still 'only' 163rd place. First world problems.

No it hasn't, the smallest diameter is at the 11 o'clock position rising up to the largest after it passes 1 o'clock. And it's not a big difference, it's about a 5mm change in diameter. I checked mine this morning.biopace and q-rings are quite literally opposite. biopace have the largest diameter at the deadspot (12 and 6 o'clock), q-rings have the smallest diameter at the deadspot. The two can't really be compared (as far as I've read).
That said, I'll def be getting a bike fit once I've got my new bike

basically.. my idea is that I can totes commute on my SS during winter, I like the ride, it's smooth, I can top out at 34ish mph which is more than enough etc.. so I want something super special, something in 2.5-3k range I guess
buuuut, I'm getting a car soon too so I need to buy that first before I go for a special bike
Alright, I have a really, really dumb question. I've got Tektro R540s on my bike and from what I understand they have Shimano compatible cartridge style pads. I've removed the grub screws holding the pads in but I can't get them to slide out. They just won't budge, not even a little bit. Should they slide out easily or am I missing a trick somewhere?
I really don't want to have to go to my LBS to change some brake pads!

they should slideout.. are you sure your pushing them in the right direction? haha.. one side has an opening for the pad to come out, other doesn't..
They can get quite stuck sometimes. In the past i've had to wedge the pad and the cartridge between something to force it out - strangely jamming it between the two handles of my Parktools cable cutters is particularly effective for this.
Failing that, presuming the pads are dead and you want rid of them, you can just hack them out using a small flathead screwdriver or (carefully!!) a knife.
The more irritating thing is when the grub screw gets stuck, cos then you can hack the pad out but can't get a new one in. I've ended up with that before, and tbh for what it costs for a new set of cartridges i just replaced the whole unit.
EDIT: May be a really really stupid question - but it's definitely cartridge style brakes? The Tektro ones on my Giant Defy weren't originally - they were just pads that attach directly to the caliper. I replaced them myself with the catridge/pad ones once that first set of pads died.

If they were anything like mine they are an utter pain to remove!
I found the best 'tactic' was to use some long nosed pliars and pull/wiggle the pad away from the shoe (to loosen it) and then to also use them to pull the pad out . They give much more of a purchase as you can pull them from the end (they remove from) rather than pushing from the rear. I had one particularly stubborn one which ripped apart when removing it, I pulled it out in lumps with my long noses lol
I guess you could spray WD40/GT85 around the edges to add some lubrication, just be sure to clean the shoe well afterwards as you don't want any of that on your breaking/pad surfaces!
Good point, although the Defy range are all different! My Defy 1 2015 had inserts, James' Defy 3 2015 had shoes (which I believe he replaced with inserts).

not that she minds but 7 bikes in the house = I need to replace rather than +1 it I love cars, I have no need for one but I simply do want one just because, for random weekend trips, track days etc! bike will still be the main tool to get around, there's simply no way I am going to ever drive to work with stupid parking prices, congestion charge and mental traffic during rush hours! never mind those cyclist who think they own the road, jump reds and don't pay road tax

There are some damn nice options for the 2-2.5k mark. I'd still be tempted to build my own though You could get a nice DA Di2 bike with discs and decent wheels for that kind of money.
