You're literally labeling an entire group of people as scum, I'm sure you've had some bad experiences but it's basically the same as me labeling Muslims scum because of a few bad experiences I might have had. I see this exact same thing from the brainless liberals on my Facebook wall, the thing they all share in common is that they despise British working class people because they perceive them as ignorant

Australia is a nation built on immigration, which didn't exactly work out well for the native population :(

I don't want to be too specific (public internet forum after all) but one of the villages between Preston and Blackpool - not Kirkham.

And Cleveleys isn't Blackpool - it's Cleveleys - it's not even in the Blackpool Unitary Authority - it's under Lancashire council. Fleetwood is Fleetwood (not that I'd want to live there either - maybe Rossal but only if I could send my kids to a private school).

Fair do's - I used to work at what was then BNFL's Springfields site. Happy days.

It's not silly stuff, it's EU law. Rent a flat in Dublin and get a job for 6 months and she can come back to Britain with you. Why waste these 12 months being separated.

OK - well I can almost see Springfields out my back room window, that probably nails it down to two places for you :-)

I went to Springfileds on a school trip once - was pretty cool :-)

Here's some evidence, our country is powerful, rich, safe and has invented many vastly important things, their country and society has now got to the point that people would rather risk death than live there

I'm sorry mate but you completely missed the point, I wasn't stating that she's prevented because she'd have better options once here than a refugee. The fact is in the USA she can make a good life for herself if she so wishes, you said yourself she's educated. And disparity in immigration not withstanding she is hardly being persecuted etc.

Great another person deliberately framing the issue in an inaccurate way and despite not being in work currently due to ill health I don't look down my nose at British working class people at all, I am one and the vast majority of my friends are. Who I and people like me look down our noses is mindless and heartless bigots with not an ounce of real compassion.

I wouldn't waste your breath mate, until the shoe is on the other foot people like this wont have a clue until they're the ones clamouring to get space on a boat so over crowded and unsafe they're likely to sink and drown. Maybe then as their lungs begin to fill with sea water they might actually get it.
