Good morning,

I recently asked a friend to help me spec a computer that I could build and he sent me over to OcUK forums. From the very first moment I signed up you guys have been incredible helpful and patient and I just wanted to thank you.

There were a number of people that kept spec'ing computers for me and kept adjusting and amending things for my requirements. This must have taken you a fair amount of time and I'm extremely grateful.

When I came to order my bits from the OcUK website they were equally helpful. I paid for my order and delivery and I was all set! After I had paid I realised I missed something out - no problem. l left a quick message on the forum and they sorted my order out without any fuss.

I must admit, I have never ever worked with such an efficient company in all my life. When you buy things online it's always hassle and you wonder if you're going to get the right thing.

I can't thank the OcUK forum members and staff enough for their time and effort when dealing with me.

Thank you all very much. Hopefully I'll stick around and continue to build and add things to my computer.:D

I think it's safe to say that the majority of forum members enjoy speccing builds so have no problem taking the time to do it. It's a little challenge if you make amendments and provides answers to those that have the same issue.

Glad you enjoyed your first day at OCUK school, take care in the General Discussion playground though, there are some problem kids ;)

Home delivery is great, shop experience can be a little different though. In their sat before last to pick up an order, waited 15-20 mins to be seen then when it was my turn 2 lads walked in with a little girl and just barged in front. He was acting like a staff member or mate of the lad begins the counter.

To be fair that staff member knew what he'd done but didn't correct him. Even though my order was ready for pickup I had to wait another 10 mins between speaking to a staff member and walking out with it.

Welcome to GD. The shallow end of the OcUK experience. Enjoy your stay and don't feed the trolls. :)

But most of us came here out of a need for info or help, wandered into the forums and stayed, there's a great community here. Pull up a seat and enjoy the ride.

It is what a 'real' forum should be all about, knowledge and the sharing of it, to help each other out, and OC-UK forums do just that.

another bonus is that the forums themselves are kind of independent of the store, so you know the advice here will be non-biased.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the chaotic world fo GD

Few pro tips to get you through GD

1) Every bug/creature is a "Queen wasp and someones dad kills them for a living"
2) "Pooing through the letterbox" is a semi passive aggressive way of dealing with all lifes troubles
3) If a third party offends you adopt the "boxing stance" and/or "put a fist under his chin"
4) Everyone hates EBAY on here as its scam central but once a week someone will post an "Ebay help!" thread which means you must be harsh and advise them that given the hundreds of threads about Ebay problems they should have known better than to use Scambay/ Fleabay.
5) "I am not a shop".... well OCUK is but I am not!
6) NEVER EVER ask for a forum name change...... it never ends well!

I love ebay,I bought and sold thousands of pounds worth of stuff on there

Just in the 10 days or so I have spent £500 on ebay..

Its a great forum, a few fanboy extremists who treat Nvidia and AMD like football hooligans treat City and UTD in the GPU section, GD can give you a flavour of how odd the human race really is although this often amuses me greatly and Motors can be a bit follow the leader sometimes although no where near as bad as it used to be. The techy stuff, the builds and general reading into PCs and gaming is great with a lot of very helpful people

I buy most of my stuff from OCUK too, never had a problem and returning my 970 under the memory fiasco was fantastic and very reassuring for future purchases
