Hi all.

I am on the lookout for a new Racing Chair-come-Office Chair and have so far narrowed my choices down to these two from OC:

I am trying to aim somewhere in and around that price range - at an absolute push I'd go £185/£190 since it's £14.95 shipping to Northern Ireland.

Anyone have any experience with either of these 2 chairs or recommend another one?

Also, I see the Arozzi Torretta comes in an XL version too, is the only difference literally just a bit of extra width? If so the regular version should do me, I'm quite slim.

Finally, apologies if this in the wrong section, it seemed the only one I could go for.

Friends got the first one, quality wise feels the same as my DX Racer, only thing I don't like on it is if your moving around on it the caster base rotates rather than being fixed.

Oh yeah I know what you mean, my previous office chair was like that. Was a real pain when trying to get yourself set for a session of racing but I just accepted it after a while. Thanks for the info.

In your opinion is it just as functional as an office chair as it is a Racer? In my room I had a racing chair AND an office chair to fill both needs but I was for ever tripping over which ever one wasn't in use so though it was about time I got one that could do both.

We've just got back from a lan and over 3 days he'll have been sat in it for a good 36 hours and never moaned about it being uncomfy.

If your getting new just drop to one chair.

Arozzi Torretta looks the better chair out of the two.

What does a racing chair offer over a good office chair?

I don't think they do, to be honest. They do look cooler.

My old office had racing chairs and they were OK, comfortable chairs. But they're no competition (IMO) for really good quality office chairs, i.e. Herman Miller etc.

I would say they're a decent match for things like the IKEA Markus.

Its main use WILL be gaming (80% racers) but from time to time I do need to actually sit upright at a desk when I'm playing FPS and I need the desk for mouse and keyboard. I also do some office work - not very often but I need that option

The racing chair I currently have is very good but it is a fixed base and when you're sitting at a desk it is too low to comfortably and ergonomically sit and type.

The current racing chair will not go to waste mind you, it is now in my second living room. It came with a foot stool so ideal for lying back and watching the F1!

You can set a lot of these chairs upright and with the lumbar supports you'll be fine for office work.
