KFA saying a 650w Superflower Gold isn't enough for a 780?

I think the problem stems from the fact that they are saying it boots and runs fine when I had issues on two machines. They've said they're going to test it for a day or two to see if they can find anything else.

The rig you see in my Sig is running comfortably off an EVGA Supernova GS 650.....

They are trying to fob you off.

With 4820K and my 780 OC'd peak draw is something like 419 watts at the wall in performance intensive games :S

They are talking out of their backsides. Even with the cpu and ram overclocked and overvolted my pc with a EVGA GTX780 FTW only pulls a max of 452w at the wall and even then only if I run Furmark and IBT both at the same time. Normal gaming use is anything up to 360w (at the wall) depending on the game. Anno 2070 is the one exception as it makes it pull 422w at the wall.

Could try "harrassing" them on their fb page, tweets, emailing and writing letters to their head office about how you are being given the runaround.

Other than that then the legal route....

Write a letter before action (basically a warning letter before you take them to court)
Get a qualified engineer's report on the PSU (confirming that its faulty)
go to moneyclaim online and take them to court.
Dont forget to charge them for your time, costs, interest.

Once you begin this process do not stop unless they offer compensation (as well as a new/rectified psu)

If you need help with the above try consumeractiongroup website

This is why I stick to more reputable companies with no quibble rma's.
These mickey mouse budget gpu manu's rma is flakey.

Good news! The testing guy tried it first thing this morning on a cold boot and the card wouldn't boot and the PC wouldn't POST so I'm pleased a fault has been found. :)

Love some of these power related threads and i'm sure some people just follow others!
If the OP was the kind of guy that pushed his hardware to the max and had a great clocker then it would NOT be enough, for example in my testing my system with a 780classified @1500mhz 1.385v pulled 841w from the wall, this is with a 1200w SF plat. With 2 cards in sli it was drawing 1395w which was triggering OCP so i bought another to run 1 card off and in the end running firestrike extreme with 2 psu's it was nigh on 1500w, the cards were watercooled. Obviously this is an extreme example but it can and does happen, so please gather all the facts before advice is given.
