What would it be and why?

Mine would be a Seagull. Only because they, even though annoying are pretty cool. I remember back in the school days there used to be about 40 of the buggers, which used to do a kinda formation bombing run across the courtyard!

A medium sized cat. Like a Serval or a Lynx. Or maybe something a bit bigger like a Puma.

One thing is certain: I want a tail. Tails are awesome. Swishy swishy swish. Look at my tail, it's amazing!

House cat. So I could paw incessantly at my owner's face on a Sunday morning to make them feed me. Oh and run around like a lunatic at 3am pulling curtains down and knocking things off shelves. But my owner would still adore me and I would have unlimited chin scratches on demand.

Learned something today. That insects are indeed animals. Felt immediately stupid for not knowing this. Always thought insects and animals were somehow different.

Skunk!

The idea of having a devastating and yet essentially non violent defence mechanism to deal with anybody who might mess with me is somewhat appealing.

Mind, a Skunks defence mechanism is not quite harmless. If a predator is sprayed it is going to stink for quite a long time. This will likely compromise its ability to hunt, both because the prey will smell it coming and also possibly because its own sense of smell might be affected.
