I thought someone here may have some tips.

I am in a 3rd world country for work I was only supposed to out of the uk for 2 or 3 weeks (in Prague) 3 months later I am still not home and I am now in Asia.

Tomorrow my travel insurance expires because I will exceed the 90 day tip limit. I have never had to calm before but what I am doing here is quite dangerous and so if something goes wrong I could need medical help.

I can't extend my policy so is there anything else I can do short of flying back to the uk and back here again?

Can't you just buy another?

Thats the problem most insurance policies require that you buy them before you start the trip so I thought someone here may know a company that will let you buy it mid way.

I will hit google a bit harder when I can finally find some proper internet.

My brother and a friend bought a travel insurance policy whilst out in Thailand as they had forgotten to purchase before they left. They needed to make a claim a few days after and the insurance company refused to payout as it was against their terms to allow a policy to start when you have already left.

They kicked up a fuss on social media though and they paid out in the end.

Start a new policy from tomorrow with another provider. I don't see the issue.
Type if policy, country travelling to, duration.

Done

Surely your employer should have sorted this out for you?

A lot of people clearly lacking in reading skills today.

All the policies i've bought have indicated that a policy must be purchased before leaving. So you could push that right up until your sat on the runway ready to take off. But doing it as soon as you arrive invalidates it.

As for the OP's question, i'm not entirely sure what you would do in this situation. As you're out there for business rather than leisure, there may be different travel insurance policies available to you.

I am not really sure you should be looking for Travel Insurance. You might be better off looking for something more suited to an Expat. Expat medical is a term used in the industry.

From your own article: 'If you do have do use a less known insurer because you have already left the UK, it may be worth checking its security rating with a broker and get some background.'

With that in mind, a quick google produces:

worldwideinsure.com
truetraveller.com
work-and-travel-insurance.com
worldnomads.com
caremed-travelinsurance.com
globelink.co.uk
navigatortravel.co.uk

An example of the sort of disclaimers:
