AMD’s Robert Hallock: “The vast majority of DX12 titles in 2015/2016 are partnering with AMD”

What are you some sort of jehovas witness that thinks only green is good for gaming? Lol.

No, I just find it a bit odd that over the last few months a lot of the old faithful AMD supporters have drifted away, and now we have people who created accounts, some of them years ago, go from having less than 100 posts over years to having 500posts in 3 months

It just seems a strange coincidence.

Tbf Andy a lot of us who have come over to 'The Dark Side' are mGPU and been utterly frustrated with Crossfire this last 8/9 months or so.

I just feel sorry for the poor buggers who are stuck there :D

Once it's sorted (hopefully DX12 will help) then I'll be seriously considering them again :)

Same. There's been so much hostility on these types of threads it's been quite painful to read.

Its not just here; the Star Citizen Hardware forums are painful to read; there's a very small but very vocal AMD <3 club.

I just don't get why people get like that; you owe these companies nothing.
pick the best card you can afford that performs at the resolution and settings you intend to play at.

I didn't think this forum was exclusive to Nvidia. If we have a dedicated Nvidia fan base here why is there such a uproar when a few defend AMD? Should we all criticize Hallock in this thread since you don't agree with him or don't like what he said?

Just a thought, but maybe the increase in posts of the last few months could be due to the new AMD card releases and DX12. Nvidia has been leading for the last 2 years so who can say much against that, but now AMD has started to announce some potentially good cpu's/gpu's there is something to talk about.

Secondly, Shadergate is only just starting to get going...let alone "shown to be a lot of hot air". I think you should get out more and read a few more threads on the subject from other sites. And while this is all about to kick off Nvidia are keeping quite tight lipped about it all in a very Ramgate kinda way.

Why does everything have to be xxxxgate now?

Not a comment on whether Nvidia do have issues, but Ramgate, Shadergate...it's getting a bit silly.

Watergate was a real place.

It's been pretty obvious for a long time now, I mentioned this in a Bulldozer/Pildedriver (forgot which) thread several years ago now now. Back then it was often users with less than 100 posts suddenly popping up posting about how great their new AMD system was in any thread that was negative towards AMD.

You only have to look through maonayze short post history to see that he posts exclusively in Freesync/AMD threads (with the odd foray into NVidia ones) and it's either to defend AMD or put in a marketing pitch for AMD, even in the monitor forum his posts constantly pimp the Fury cards.

I don't doubt that this will be part of AMDMatt and AMDJoe job description.

Feel free to post evidence of 'shadergate' as you call it affecting NVidia performance because so far there is none, including the game which started it all off. It's not like AMD's tessellation where we have tangible evidence of performance falling off a cliff, both synthetically and in games.

Frostbite 3 engine dx12, games from that are all going to be dx12 soon.
thats at least 4.

Unreal 4 engine and crysis also.
when you check games look for the engines.

Here is what Nvidia does to your benchmarks and sales, trust a company that lies and decieve all day? and people defend such behaviours?? goes beyond my understanding

"“I believe the initial confusion was because Nvidia PR was putting pressure on us to disable certain settings in the benchmark, when we refused, I think they took it a little too personally.”"

This takes paranoia to another level

I really don't think AMD have got the time or the money to be hiring shills to be posting on forums all day.

Overclockers would just be able to compare ip addresses and see if that was happening.

Paranoia? it's called viral marketing look it up along with IP proxies, there are companies that exist solely to provide services such as this.

I know how to spoof an ip address.

Viral marketing - Yes it exists. Usually it's paying people for favourable Youtube reviews that get 100,000+ hits.

You really think the overclockers forum is the best place for AMD to be putting their efforts in to viral marketing?!

They can barely cobble enough R9 Nano cards together for reviewers.

Whilst I do agree that people are coming out of the woodwork to defend AMD, there is enough people here who defend Nvidia and whilst most are pretty fair comments, some go to extremes. MMJ is one of those.

I don't care for all the fanboy talk personally but am always up for some banter and this thread I did find funny with some people jumping on the expected "2 of 3 titles named" :D

mmj_uk - do they make green tin foil hats, or did you have to spray yours specially? :D

He has even accused me of being some sort of AMD paid shill too in the past. Yet conveniently ignores it was Nvidia who got caught doing it with the Nvidia Focus Group, and yet for all his claims of other companies like AMD of doing it over the last decade,if it did happen someone would have probably admitted as much by now when they stopped being paid.

Yet anonymous astro-turfing is illegal in the UK and USA too, which most of the OcUK members are probably located in anyway so neither would be gaining anything from doing it!!!!

I think he is just bored.

Next he will be saying we need to confirm we live in Blighty...

So you think because some people defend AMD they are shills? Ludicrous when we all know OCuK is dominated by Nvidia fans. If there is viral marketing then you could accuse a lot of people here of working for Nvidia rather than AMD.

I don't see many AMD fans going into Nvidia threads to post comments about Nvidia has cr*p drivers, etc. yet there are always the Nvidia crew trolling AMD threads. Take this thread for instance, this is an AMD thread but plenty of Nvida fans making decidedly anti-AMD comments or making ridiculous accusations that anyone posting a positive comment is an AMD shill.

Instead of making accusations, why not take part in the debate. If everyone here was a Nvidia fanboy I'm pretty sure most of these threads will be dead. Well ...apart from the Drivers and Kepler owners thread of course..;):p

You are not helping either. this isn't an AMD thread, it is a thread for discussing what DX12 games are coming and the amount that AMD are sponsoring. It is open for sensible discussion and this was the purpose of the thread. I was hoping for some further DX12 games to be announced, which could still happen but as it stands, we have 3 (and AMD are sponsoring the majority of course (2 of the 3)).

Too many people get so wrapped up in what the opposition is doing, they forget that they buy a GPU/'s to play games and enjoy themselves. It doesn't matter what you have in your PC, so long as you enjoy it and I am sure we all strive for the same thing?

AMD have their faults, Nvidia have their faults but I will buy what suits me best.

Now then, anyone heard of any other DX12 games?

I am thinking we will see some love giving to a couple of older titles like TW3/GTA V/Battlefront. My thoughts anyway :)
