These new Segway Boards.

if walking is too slow, get a bicycle. You want one because you think it'll make you look cool, it won't.

Well these seem like an alternative. I don't want to get somewhere and be out of breath or hot because I have rode my bike but I also don't want it to take me so long walking. I'm not bothered about looking cool or anything, I just thought it would be fun to have one and also they can help in particular situations.

Nah it gets you where you're going and can be put in a bag when you get there unlike a bike which needs chaining somewhere secure and no bike lock can withstand more than 30 seconds of an attempt to steal it because all locks can be bypassed.

Also this^ +1

I saw three kids struggling with one in Banbury yesterday, it didn't look like they were having much fun or much success.

I'd feel like a bit of a pleb riding one and I have two legs that need walking more often than they do already so i'll probably give this a miss.

Friend of mines kid managed to take a plunge off of one and break his wrist.

I was under the impression they were supposed to be impossible to fall off.

I know they're not 'impossible' to fall off of but breaking a wrist, jesus. I thought the most damage would have been a scratch or bruise.

How so? Travelling at the max speed of 10mph, clip a kerb that's too high for it to mount and *boom*.

Potential for a lot worse than a broken wrist.

I saw one of these going into New Street.
I felt embarrassed for him. They're awful, get in the way of everybody cause they want to fly around at 10mph and are so damn lazy.

I can see these getting banned in places fairly quickly. They also look stupid.
I would have thought they were banned already tbh.

When I've been on Segway sight seeing tours in the States (damn good fun btw) they've always stated Segways are illegal in Britain because you can't ride them on the public road or pavement.

Segways with the handles are actually pretty safe and easy to ride (despite all the idiot youtube videos out there!) and if they're banned the boards definitely should be!

I've shamelessly wanted one for a while. I work in London on Thursdays and Fridays. Would love one of these to save me walking. Ultimate lazy mode engaged lol.

My friend got a G-Board from a certain portable computer direct store *wink wink*.

Just google it or try look on their site directly as I'm not sure if they officially sell them yet but they are in stock.
