I was level 33 and nothing when I logged in, took me less than an hour to hit level 34, seems a little... fast.
 
Downloaded in around 3 hours over two PS4's.

Managed to get a half our play session and so far so, erm, mostly good with some bad bits.

Overall it is nice but some of the changes are slightly odd. Shotguns (or at least a "365" Found Verdict) now feel weak again in PVE. Checked the change log posted on Reddit and the damage against AI combatants has been reduced by 45%... WHY?!

EDIT: Turns out the nerf takes them from 2.25 down to 1.15 (1.00 being the original vanilla value before the big buff a few patches ago). Factoring in the other nerfs they are basically back at vanilla damage levels.. I really hope that will be looked at in the future.

I am not liking Nolan's Ghost voice one bit though.


How are people running the Suros emblem already? I have pre-ordered the game through PSN which states it has the Suros pack but see no option for it either in game, in my mailbox or on Bungie.net. MAybe I am just being blind?!

Don't think you can yet can you? And that's my Titan up from 29 to 34 already too...

The subclass won't appear til next week but I've just done some quests for my mentor. I presume it will result in my arc subclass being available. Bungie said something about the new subclasses having to be earned.
 
Yeh, the quests seem bugged though, says 50 kills using golden gun, grenade or melee attacks for my hunter but only golden gun is counting to the total. Also, I got my levels wrong, the titan was 31, so he only jumped 3 levels, my warlock is 29 and I've not logged that one in yet.

I got mine through the postmaster when I logged in, got the shader and emblem but not the weapons yet. I also pre-ordered through PSN

check the terminal where your shaders/emblems are stored now, I think they are under promotional (don't quote me on that though lol)
 
Hmmm maybe it will appear in due course.. I only pre-ordered yesterday (so same day as patch) so...

I share the game with the Mrs and it used to get funny in the past with the limited edition unique items if she logged in first (she would have access to them and I wouldn't).

She logged in first last night so maybe it was just that.. Will check tonight.

I had a few other thoughts from my quick playthrough last night (please note this was limited to a bit of patrol on Mars and Earth):

- Fatebringer doesn't feel much different to how it felt pre patch. Range seems slightly curtailed (as expected) but honestly nothing drastic. Loss of 2 rounds is noticeable but Outlaw seems to run for a bit longer (maybe just me remembering wrong though).

- G'horn is weaker (One rocket did not kill the 3 level 18 yellow bar Hive in the Steppes) and the tracking on the wolf pack rounds more sporadic. I would need to test against a single boss level enemy to see the real effects of the nerf (lack of consistency on the WP rounds could just have been my poor aim last night).

- Field Scout now only affects reserve ammo (which itself has been reduced by 37%) and not current magazine size. Whilst not a major problem it does mean no more 27 round VoC/Fang or 100 round Corrective Measure.

- Overall Tower and GUI changes are in my mind a massive improvement. I love the extra vault space and dedicated stations for Emblems, shaders and Exotics. With the other added changes (gunsmith etc) it makes the Tower feel more like a hub and not an inconvenience.

- The graphics engine or lighting engine seems slightly improved. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is but the visuals seem "crisper".

- I have said it already but I really don't like the Nolan-bot. I don't know whether it is the delivery or the actual vocals themselves but it just sounds odd.

There are loads of other changes that I have either missed or not experienced yet.

It may have been more like 4 hours as I was stupidly tired last night. Thinking about it I started the D/load at around 6:30 and was playing by around 11. I didn't start playing immediately thus works out at just over 4 hours.

I did have to pause and restart it multiple times mind.

Warlock quest seems bugged on the challenge part. 20 kills with radiance during a strike.

I did during Omnigul when the thrawls run out and must have killed about 20, possibly more. Yet it only registered 3, same next time I used radiance. Makes it impossible I find as you just don't have enough enemy or supers during any of the strikes :(
