*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Has anyone seen anything as to whether this 2.0 patch is on the Taken King retail discs? Or is it going to install some 1.2.x.x version and you still have to download the 18GB? It's going to take weeks for my nephew to play if that's the case. :D

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think there are any TTK retail discs, it'll be the vanilla game (and version) with TTK and the other expansions as DLC codes.

Sorry, I meant the retail Legendary / Collector's editions. Which version of the base game is going to be on those discs?

Yeah I mean inside those editions will probably just be the vanilla game. It'll just be the initial launch version and then you'll have to download everything extra, I could be wrong this is just a guess but I don't believe they have officially said.

Ahhh the other thing I like is that you can now exchange your bounties within the quests screen ie no longer need to go to the tower to exchange. Good change from Bungie and yes I know others have mentioned it here before me lol.

The hunter quest asked for kills with your melee *ability*, not melee attack...throwing knives to the face ftw.

I cannot remember what the quest asked for but the quest itself quite clearly states attack.

Hmm, could have sworn it was ability. Well, knife kills definitely registered for it. Sounds like the other class quests are required ability too.

Get that Monte Carlo out :) Going to blat through the titan and warlock quest after work before getting into rift.

One thing that was quite nice with the update was that my wife's Warlocks were both pulled through at level 34. One was actually 34 before but the other was running the armour left overs and thus was not 34. I really wasn't sure how this would work before the update.

I haven't played since vanilla Destiny, I have if I recall correctly Warlock 29, Titan 30 and Hunter 29. I quit playing previously as it was taking over my life, it didn't help that I was at the time on the sick from work for a few months so was playing it morning, noon and night.

I'm extremely tempted to pick back up again but maybe just force myself to stick with one class (likely Warlock). Looks so bloody confusing now though, I've missed so much I'm not sure if I could throw myself back in. Is the farming less of a grind now, from what I've read it appears they can be bought with marks instead? Is that what most people do now or does everyone still farm?

Buying another PS4 on Monday so may try out vanilla Destiny for a few hours and then consider buying TTK. I have great memories of some of the best multiplayer gaming of my life, with our organised OCUK raid/nightfall teams etc.

There is *much* less grind than in vanilla, in fact I'd say House Of Wolves went a little bit too far in that it was very easy to gear up to max level in a week or two.

I think if you launched back into TTK it would be easier, as they've consolidated a lot of the currencies. You just have one kind of Mark to earn, you hardly need any materials to upgrade gear etc. No more farming patrols.

Do it!

I'm in the same boat. I might have played with you on VoG at some point and as you say it was great fun. I haven't played since then as I resented paying for the expansions and it was taking up all my evenings grinding for coins, resources etc.

Seems like they have addressed a lot of these issues and TTK legendary edition includes all of them for a reasonable price of £35.

Is there somewhere we go to convert old crucible/vanguard marks to the new "legendary" ones? I was expecting that to happen automatically. Gunna have a good look round the tower etc today and see what the various vendors offer.

You can't convert current marks into legendary ones. The current ones will convert into rep at 50 for 250 rep once TTK officially drops (15/09)

Would be nice to see you back on. :) I remember our raid/NF escapades.

Not til next Tuesday.

Can anyone tell me how to get exotic bounties? I have been playing this game on and off since launch and never got one. Are they even still a thing?

I'm only talking from the vanilla days, but they used to randomly appear when handing in normal bounties you had completed. The common consensus back then was, it always seemed more likely you received an exotic bounty when you handed in a full array of completed normal bounties at once, but don't believe it was ever proved one way or another.

So a bit confused by the hunter quest, it now says i have to kill 15 enemies, 3 majors and complete the strike. Right pretty easy to understand but so far only one strike has turned up, ive done the 15 enemies bit but i killed 3 vex minotaurs, the yellow ones and completed the strike but it didnt complete??

Do i have to wait for TTK to fall before this completes?? or am i doing it wrong??. I cant see any other strikes on the list so maybe the vex majors arent being counted??

Anyone explain?? or tell me how to complete the quest??

only certain enemies count. We did the undying mind strike. on the stairs leading from the black garden, there are loads of majors, none of them counted, however on the boss section, the majors that spawned in there counted.

Right and where exactly is the undying mind strike?? I don't see it in the vanguard bit or any of the planets.
