Traded my ps4 for a x1

I was sick of swapping consoles all the time to play certain games, i would have a ps3 for ratchet and clank, uncharted then would swap it for an xbox for gears of war or because my brother had a particular console...
But then i would look at how much money i was wasting on constantly swapping consoles.

I tried getting into pc gaming but i just cant, for me it doesnt feel right playing a game with a keyboard and mouse, so gone back and sticking with consoles
Sold my graphic card and odd pc bits which covered my ps4 purchase then recently made some money selling some funko pop! Vinyl i wasnt that interested in to pay for my xbox one.
Now it nice knowing when rise of the tomb raider comes out i can get it on the day and not wait 12 months for it to come to ps4 and likewise uncharted i can get that.

900p/1080p or 30fps/60fps, sluggish interface etc, I really dont care! I dont wonder around on the consoles at stuff, i put a disc in and play the game, surely that is what it is all about.

I still play my gamecube, so graphics arent that big a deal for me, you ask many people what their favourite game is, many will say something that isnt even that great looking or ran at a solid 60fps

Just buy your chosen console or two and just enjoy it

I have both now :D

PS4 is better for gaming, but that's all it does. It's a master of gaming.

Xbox does all sorts, a jack of all trades but master of none.

Despite the whole ps4 has better graphics, I buy the majority of games on xbox due to the Windows 10 streaming feature, game sharing and the fact nobody I know actually owns a ps4 :D

You must know about 4 people then.

Most folk I know or meet have a PS4 or both. More than 70% of Metal Gear Solid copies sold were on Playstation.

I'm the same. I was all up for getting a ps4, but all my mates got an Xbox. I'll get the revised ps4 for exclusives next year.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've swapped back and forth between Xbox One and PS4, I must have lost a fortune in the process. Despite that, I remain firm I don't want to own two consoles. I've only just sold, what I believe to be, my 5th Xbox One It was bought with the intention of keeping it ready for Halo 5 and Forza 6. I owned it for less than a week and realised, despite me wanting Halo 5 so much, I still do prefer the various benefits I see in the PS4.

I'll be buying myself another PS4 come Monday - this time I think I'll be sticking with it. I think partly its because of my age now (33), I get less enjoyment from games than I used to. I usually find one game I really like and play it to death, rather than race to play every single new release, most of which rarely appeal to me now.

This to me makes no sense at all. So you have swapped consoles on 5 occasions so far over the course of the last 2 years. With the money you have spent you could have both and save quite a lot of effort. Why do you not want to own both consoles when you clearly want both judging by your need to keep swapping.

Can't fault your logic, honestly. Call it a personality flaw :p

Gotta be something...

I can understand doing it once, even twice, but not learning after that really makes no sense in the slightest. Even if you just box it up and stick in the loft at least you won't be losing hundreds of pounds when you switch the next time.

I personally don't sell any consoles or games anymore, I know I'll always want to dig them out at some point, I'm looking forward to the next time I go to my folks and can fire up my old Dreamcast and GameCube.

Still pains me I sold my NES, Mega Drive and GameGear all those years ago.

Lol why not just buy both and keep them? you must have lost enough money to buy a second console....

more funny, halo 5 will kick destiny ass by miles and Forza 6 is miles better then any racing game on PS4

only reason i have a xbox one, i can't wait for GT7 and destiny PVP so poor :(

Instead of selling [insert console you currently own here], put it back in its box, shove it in a cupboard and then in a few weeks when you change your mind again you won't have to spend any money to get it back.

So with Xmas around the corner I am thinking of asking the wife to get me a PS4 to go alongside my Xbox one, am I being silly?

No. If you can justify having one due to the exclusives on the console and you wouldn't rather have the money spent on something else then you should get one but might be a bit pants if all your friends are on live and you're a more social gamer

Plenty of people on the forums have both, I can't justify it myself as a lot of the big games are multiplat and the exclusives on the xbox don't sway me.

I think it gets more worthwhile owning both as the catalogue for both gets larger at which point you get a lot of games in the £20-25 bracket.

If you go the playing with mates route rather than exclusives, they need to be in to the same sort of games. I had a choice between the exclusives of PS3 and the multiplayer of Xbox 360 last time. So I chose Xbox, then all my friends ever played was £55 CoD map packs from Activision so I felt I missed out.
