Nokian Weatherproof tyres

We have <drumroll>

Rapid P309.

Never heard of them. Wouldn't have been my first choice. On the upside (ish), they are rated BC for rolling resistance and wet braking. Of course, can't see a professional review of them anywhere.

I haven't yet brought myself to ask how much they cost.

An alloy wheel place tried to sell me Barum tyres as "a premium brand" a few days ago, I declined and bought some Vredestein online for almost half the price in the same size..

Here's tyrereviews summary of that AutoExpress All Season tyre roundup with the Nokian Weatherproof winning.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2015-Auto-Express-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm

Rather surprisingly it outperformed the Continental TS850 (the Winter tyre I use on my car) on Snow! Mildly compromised handling in the dry and wet compared to a summer tyre though but very good wet braking.

In my missus defence, it appeas that some of my 'educational' text messages didn't arrive until a few days after I'd sent them. I'm still mildly annoyed at missing out on what appears to be a very good tyre indeed.

If you're really lucky your Mrs will pay X2 the money for cheap tat and still have to go back to have them balanced.;)

'Unbelievably', the missus sent me a text this morning asking for the phone number of a mechanic we know because she wanted to get the wheels balanced. I replied it should have been done when she got the tyres fitted and asked if she actually meant tracking.

She hasn't texted back yet...
