Hi if you lot could give me some advice please that would be great!

I've got an i7 4970k and an msi Gtx970. I play mostly single player story games and racing games but have been know to play fps on the ps4 and would want to try Crysis 3 out. Im not competive really more of a casual player. Currently I've got Skyrim, ESO, Mad Max, MGS5, Grid Autosport and Batman Arkham Knight. I'm also playing the Witcher 3 on the ps4.

This is my first gaming pc and this will be my first monitor. I'm using a really old dell at the moment (720p).

I think to me quality and colour wins over speed. I'm used to 60htz and gave never seen higher.

This is purely for my pc. Gaming is important but so is image quality for photos and movies.

If someone could give me a demo of there high spec/htz monitor that's local to Ipswich that would be a great help.

Ive got a max budget of £600 but obviously if I can spend less that would be better.

I'd like it to be 27".

Thanks :)

Doubt I can game at that resolution mate but thanks for the suggestions.

I have a single 970 and an i5-2500 (non-k) and get decent fps (45-60) in most games with most settings maxed out. Only one it really struggles with is The Witcher 3, but that's smooth locked at 30 fps with a mix of high/ultra settings.

1440p, 27", IPS panel (best for colour quality), 144Hz, GSYNC (requires nvidia graphics card), £590.

or

ROG swift

TN panel so worse colours, but less motion blur than IPS

I had seen these but aparantly the quality control on the Acer is really bad. It's a lot of money I'd want it to be perfect.

As for the swift it's not IPS so I think I'd be disapointed but I've not seen one in person.

I'm running a Swift now purely because of several attempts at the Christmas cracker joke quality acer XB270HU.

If you love IPS then yes you will probably be disappointed. My IPS monitor is now my 2nd monitor along side this one while I wait for a decent 144hz IPS G-Sync panel to come along.

The swift is good don't get me wrong... just can't be argued that IPS is much better.

If you can, wait for the new range of g-sync/ips/144hz etc screens to come out.

There are other alternatives out there but if you want it fully featured there will be more of choice around Christmas/new year.

my Acer is good, no glow or bleed. Does have a dead pixel off to the right of the screen but i dont see it in games, only on a white background really.

Excellent refresh rate and G-sync works better than i imagined.

I came from a 34" LG UW and i dont regret it so far as the 60 hz refresh isnt where i want to be now ive seen just how good 144hz is in comparison.

My LG UW had a fault with the display port.

Well I think I'd love IPS from what I've read but not experienced one in person. But I love my colours and quality. My bro has an Apple cinema display 27" and that s nice.

I could wait but I'm itching for a new screen! Have you seen what I'm using!

The display would need to be perfect for me as my ocd would kick in over that 1 pixel!

I don't really want to keep exchanging them till I get a good one.
