Good evening guys, I've recently just installed my 980Ti which I'm very happy about. I was just hoping for some input on a few questions if you guys don't mind ;)

3DMark my card was only boosting to around 1260Mhz admittly the fans were on Auto so maybe it held it back a little but the temperature target was 91 and it only reached 76 (Amazing core really) However I was wondering if there any Custom bioses EVGA have released to give it a more aggressive fan profile and let it boost further?

65.5% Which is dreadful however will only affect the 2.0 Boost manually overclocking should bring it to par. 1500 Core is achievable by most I believe?

8000 on memory?

Guessing the BIOS won't really help.

Your clocks say reference but your temperatures say ACX2.0...

As Jedi said, try manually overclocking it. Probably just a bad GPU boost.

And I get the runt of the litter, won't even do 1470, one time it froze the other I got a weird grey screen :( why do I always get dreadful luck

Have you tried messing with voltage?

Mine does around 1520 without voltage and 1560 with - ASIC 72.something% - These are when in Valley/Heaven.

For day to day use I'd -40 tbh... 50MHz isn't going to make much difference, if any.

This is without voltage ASIC doesn't determine how good a card clocks by the way ;)

Does **** me off that it's extremely low though as it needs more voltage to reach higher stocks

It's not even close to dreadful. 1400-1450 fully stable in games is a good overclock. 1300 manually overclocked would be dreadful. 8000 on the mem is also high. You regularly see people saying theirs does 1500 without extra voltage, then they run something like witcher 3 maxed for a few hours and find it's actually 1450-1480.

Asic quality is a big factor when using the card with the air cooler. There's been enough research in this forum to attest that.

The problem is that everyone uses 1500Mhz as a minimum to determine a decent overclock, which is madness!

1075Mhz is the minimum guaranteed boost. You are unhappy because your card is doing less than 50% over reference.
Come on
A tiny amount of people actually plays at 1500.

With a custom loop and custom bios, then maybe you could be disappointed (for numbers though, because 1450Mhz or 1500Mhz mean nothing while gaming).
And by the way I was in it too, I really wanted a card that could get above 1500. Nothing wrong with that, but let's be honest it's silly.

Completely agree with Razor. The only reason I care (and subsequently know) how well my card does is because I was testing it for humbug's thread.

Any 980Ti owner should just crank their card up to 1400/1875 and call it a day. You're not really going to notice a difference between that and anything higher, and it's nothing to be annoyed about if your card doesn't reach that far.

Funny when you see people saying the 980Ti is amazing because "every 980Ti can hit 1500 no problem" and yet all the reviews on the internet and posts like this on the forum show just how much BS they are spreading.

From what I have seen 1400 is almost always achievable with 1450 being a "good" die. Not that you will notice much difference really, just clock it to whatever you can on stock volts and leave it at that imho, it's what I always do with my cards. The 0.5 FPS isnt worth the heat and hassle.

Anyone who says every 980Ti can hit 1.5GHz is wrong... Especially in games such as The Witcher which absolutely destroys any unstable overclock.

I'd say most could bench at 1500, not game that high though.

Asic doesnt mean much to be honest. my 63% card will happily do 1550mhz (custom bios). Even while gaming, thats +360mhz on the core boost from 1190 to 1550mhz. OFC it doesnt run at that speed 24/7.

Have you not tried manually adding core speed with afterburner? With the standard bios it should do +150 core speed if not more.

You are water cooling them, that's why it doesn't matter.

Mines worse, 63.4 :D

Mine does 1500+ but hits the power limit at about 1530 so a custom bios and a waterblock should help that :D

I just leave it stock, it's hardly lacking power :p
