I put this in the PSU section but not many people look in there, and looking for a quick answer. Can a mod delete the other thread please, thanks.

Putting together a 'new' system for a friend. Only really for playing League of Legends 95% of the time, with 5% some other games.

i5 2500k - I'll probably just run at stock or slightly over.
ATI 7850
8GB RAM
SSD
DVD Drive
1, possibly 2 case fans

On a budget, hence second hand parts for the most part.
Will the Corsair CX 430w PSU power all this fine?

At the risk of breaking the rules, check my thread in the Member Market regarding a PSU.

Yeah, that's why I asked! But I'll see what the guy selling the 550w says first as for ~£5 more, it'll be slightly better.

You'll get away with it for now, but it wont be future proof. But for 300 pounds thats really great! Some solid gaming out of that for League aswell as Dota!

Yeah, future proof doesn't matter so much. He's upgrading from something incredibly ancient so by the time he upgrades again it'll probably be another 10 generations down the line lol. And time for a new PSU!

The CX430 is a poor quality psu with cheap internals and cannot actually deliver 430w on the all important 12v rail. Is that second hand as well or brand new? If it's second hand double check the part number as it could have as little as 336w on the 12v rail (CMPSU-430CX/CMPSU-430CXv2). Even the latest (75-001666/CP-9020046) only has 384w on the 12v rail. Don't cheap out on the psu, it's just not worth it.
