Does anyone here claim Universal Credit?

You try working down south on minimum wage 40 hours a week and afford even a one bedroom.

I got made homeless, i have no choice, i've payed in for 6 years so i have no shame using it for a couple months while i look for new work in a town 7 hours away from where i come from. You *****.

Universal is all of that rolled into one iirc, but you have to apply to it online. Doesnt explain much else afterwards.

Sell your PC.

12 months rent would be 3000 something, but ill probably only do 6 months in advance as he said yes to that.

Well i have 7k savings, when i say furnish i just mean a new bed and sofas and a table. So i doubt i'll hit 1k with that.

And even after the expenses of moving, i will be around 4k. maybe less. maybe more.

What you will be left with after you spend some in the future does not count. If you have 7k savings when you apply you have 7k savings. Ideally you want to be buying furniture/pay the rent before you apply so that you are under 6k when you do, that way it can't come back to bite you on the backside.

...Thats the plan.

Possibly, aswell as income support i'm not sure.

Doubt i'll be on it for long aswell, just need to find a 20-25+ min wage job up there and i'm all set.

If you even find something part time sooner and you earn jsa you can get off that and work while looking for more hours. Then claim rent benefit to make up additional assistance.

It's what I did because a mate hooked me up with 15hrs a week at first.

Thats fairly good actually, from what i understand, universal credit drops off the more you earn.

For instance, working 20 hours a week they calculate how much better off you are + what they still pay you, so usually that 5k+ in total benefits drops to something like mid 2k a year to help you out, which is better than just going "right you got 20 hours lets see you go"
