Alex Salmond: A second Scottish referendum is inevitible

Your second sentence is pure fiction. The plan was always to take our fair share of the debt. Although legally speaking the debt is UK debt and wouldn't be Scottish debt if we became independent. That doesn't mean we weren't prepared to do the right thing though.

So if England decided to leave the UK then. Scotland, Wales and NI would take the remaining debt as it wouldn't be ours? (I don't think we'd do the right thing though).

I voted no along with the majority. So we don't want another second Scottish referendum. Will she just keep having them until it's a yes.

Can't see it being a yes for a long time, if ever. If anything the No vote will only strengthen right now.

The only people I know of who are steadfast in their support of the Union, other than the pensioners scared about their pensions, are the ilk who support Rangers and revel in singing about being up to their knees in blood.

The sad reality of it is, despite being the majority. You aren't loud, demanding and blinkered enough for the SNP fanatics, like lovelyhead. So most likely yes. Not exactly showing the No voters the respect they deserve.

Werewolf is right, I don't know what they are using as the definition of a generation. But it certainly isn't human years.

So here we go again. All the bile and hatred is going to start all over again. A generation is longer than a couple of years. I am sick and fed up with the SNP and their hatred of anything that isn't Scottish.

Ooooooooh what's this?

Another poll you say?

TNS put YES at 53% and No at 47%?

This seems to becoming a regular occurrence does it not?

Those unionists are going to be greetin into their porridge you say!

The only result that matters is that of the referendum, you know, the one you lost. Get over it.

I am a unionist. I am neither a member of the orange order, nor a lunatic.

We have all had this exact same discussion at least a dozen times over since the referendum was even announced. We are all at least a little bit of a lunatic ;)

Personally, I have little time for either football or religion. Neither am I a lunatic (in any meaningful way at least).

I just simply know what side my bread is buttered. It is mostly a financial thing for me. While I do have pride in being Scottish, I also have pride in being Brittish. But realistically, I don't want my financial situation slipping back to similar levels to that of 15 years ago as a result of reduced investment and increased taxes in order to pay for the dreams of that munter Sturgeon. And all her brew monkey pals.

To be fair, that might be a bit of a sweeping generalisation. Based mostly on the fact that just about every yesser I met in the run up to the ref was some sort of scumbag looking for extra handouts. The hazards of living too close to Dundee I guess.

That may be because the people you know tend to share similar views rather then be representative of the wider population...

Yes know that multiple referendums will inevitably lead to a yes result through voter apathy.

yes want a change no don't, yes will always make it to the voting booths, no will eventually not bother because they cant be arsed doing it every 5 years

I voted yes last time, if I'm asked to do so again at any point I'll vote no as it shows zero respect for the democratic process. I was told once in a generation, this is not that.

I'm not someone who supports any one political party, I tend to float between them but I'm getting pretty annoyed at the SNP, who I voted for last time.

You didn't vote for the SNP in the referendum, you voted for your country to be like every other and take control of it's own future. What you are saying now is that potentially, you will vote 'no' in the event of another referendum that could be sparked by Scotland being pulled out of the EU even though it votes to stay in.

Potentially, England could be the only country of the four who make up the UK, who votes to leave. That is zero respect for the democratic process where the bigger country simply does as it wants and ignores it's smaller neighbours, who are meant to be equal partners in this United Kingdom
