What's Next For You?

I'm starting to look at my options for a new car when i get back from NZ in January, got a budget of £15k for a new (used) car, or i may even consider leasing. I'm going to keep my A6 as it's trade in value has dropped to about £2.5k due to it having 155k miles on now, it's just flew through it's MOT with no advisories, and i've just serviced it, so it'd be daft to get rid of it for so little.

I've got no pre-requisites for a new car so i'm literally looking at anything, i'm considering anything from a Focus ST, or a Jag XF or an Audi A4 black edition, i just want to make sure it has a nice interior, good interconnectivity for audio (A2dp). And something maybe a little quicker than my current car.

I'm two years away from the next gen 5 Series Touring

Sounds optimistic, I doubt deliveries will have commenced yet and you won't want to be paying full list which is all you can do on a totally fresh model surely. 2.5 years is more likely?

Unless my commute changes in the way of doing less miles, I won't be getting anything particularly exciting. I'll either just get an E90 or E92 330d, or maybe a MK6 Golf GTI or Octavia vRS depending on what the prices are like at the time.

I just replaced my X5 with an X5 and plan to have it for a while. The only thing I may add in the next few years is a Z3M coupe.

My car is up for sale now and i'm looking to get a Mk2 Golf. I'd love a GTi but insurance is a bit too much at the moment. Looked at a couple, got my eye on one that i really like just don't want to rush into it.

Decided to stick with my octavia for the moment. I'm looking into the possibility of an engine swap next year or the year after, to the gti anniversary engine, or buying a second car as a weekend fun machine. Or I could just find I have no money and I never do any of these things :D

Our household will be going from an R35 GTR, E46 M3 and Fiat 500 to E46 M3 and A45 AMG hopefully next year. The missus wants an A Class so I've said we can get the "sporty" version so I can drive it until I decide what to get after the GTR.

I thought you hated your octavia? Isn't the GTi the same engine anyway? Is that to try and resolve your oil consumption issue?

Skoda Octavia VRS in blue but not yet decided on saloon or estate.

Want something big enough to fit 5 people in nicely when needed but also want abit of power as my current Insignia (2.0 diesel) takes what seems an age to get upto speed.

The F10 launched in Novmber 2009 with deliveries commencing early 2010. Late 2017 seems realistic. I guess it depends how long they delay the Touring model.

Probably an F30 330/335, ideally with the M Sport performance exterior trim.

Wont stop me looking at other daft things like an R8, GT-R or Maserati GT though!

The Touring is always 6 months behind the Saloon. F10 deliveries commenced March 2010, F11 late Sep 2010 :)

BMW are like clockwork with new model cycles.

Probably sticking with my leased Nissan Puke for a while considering it costs me peanuts a month and I've just bought another property to renovate and rent out.

Was wanting an RS200 or another hot hatch but it will be at least twice, maybe 3 times what I'm paying out a month now and tbh I don't use a car much at all.

Could you not swap it for the nismo version? Be abit more fun to drive.

600cc motorbike and something like a convertible or a sports car.

Edging towards Z4 or RX8... but I dunno.... I'll know it when I see it.

My 1.4 Focus has been fantastic and 100% reliable for 6 years. At 90,000 miles I could keep it though as had cambelt changed etc 20,000 miles ago so be god for a bit longer...

But I fancy doing something crazy...

Decided after it was (somewhat) fixed that since I've pumped so much money into it already that I could just be selling it to buy another car with just as many issues.

30th anniversary has the bigger K04 turbo, injectors, high pressure fuel pump etc etc. Yes and no. It would be a bonus if the oil consumption was fixed, but I'm looking more into the limitations of tuning with the stock turbo vs the one from the s3/30th anniversary/cupra. 280bhp is about the absolute max a K03 can handle whereas just a remap will send any of the cars listed above straight to 300. As I said for now it's purely just a shopping list, but having looked on a few forums the engine should cost around £1300, which is much cheaper than buying the parts separately and putting them on my engine.

Alternatively, I do have a massive hard on for jap cars every time I go to trax + recently Japfest2, so that maybe an option instead of tuning this car.

My F82 M4 has just hit the paint shop part of production and should be at the dealer within 3 weeks.

After that...well I have no idea I'm hoping to keep this car longer than I've kept any other one :p

Probably 991.2 S if i can afford one by then but will probably end up with something far more sensible though :p
