The EU Migrant Crisis

I'd like to know why they didn't go to saudi arabia to seek help from their muslim brothers.

entering other Arab states - especially in the Gulf - is far less straightforward.

Officially, Syrians can apply for a tourist visa or work permit in order to enter a Gulf state.

But the process is costly, and there is a widespread perception that many Gulf states have unwritten restrictions in place that make it hard for Syrians to be granted a visa in practice.

Where are the houses that the 20,000 will live in here? Is the government going to build a load more? I assume they will be getting rid of social housing lists and building enough for everyone then?
What will they do for money? I assume it will not be too easy to find legal work, as some can't speak English.
Will they go on JSA, and have to compete with British workers, or how is the money side of things handled for them?

Best I could find. Apparently it was labelled for refugees and they became suspect as it was furniture on the ships manifest.

Refugees aren't mentioned anywhere in that article at all.

I didn't post an article I asked a question :p

Sorry yeah I meant the BS video, and also the fact that the question was already answered but you assumed even after that.

There was loads of answers

1. Turkey, well theres about 2 million of them there, so thats that debunked, plus its ok unless youre kurdish as youre hated there.

2. Ukraine was suggested, just lol.

3. Greece. Yep, that well known country thats on its backside and cant take care of its own people, why would you want to stay there.

4. Spain, well unless things have improved dramatically since I last heard they had a big unemployment problem too

5. Ex eastern-bloc countries. Theres a reason they travel to the UK for work, the money is better here than it is back home.

I said SAFE. Doesn't mean cushy or economically favourable. Means they won't get their heads blown off or, to coin a phrase I just read in another thread, (unwillingly) have their bits smashed.

Quote"Foreign ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgic told Reuters: "If investigations by the Greek authorities show that the consignment is going to receivers other than those stated in the documentation, and if that is shared with us, naturally measures could be taken."

I didn't see the answer as I didn't refresh the page.

Still though muslims are meant to help muslims, I find it odd that saudi arabia is giving germany money to build 200 new mosques instead of taking them in.

Well in that case it leave option 3, 4 or 5, where options 3 and 5 are starve when you cant get a job to support yourself and 4 is suspect on that front.

Safe to me means being able to get a job and feed yourself, aswell as not getting shot at.

Before I get jumped on for saying that, I do realise that not everyone can get a job the second they climb out of a boat, that is what the aid is for, and no, theyre not all just going to live in houses funded by you and never work.

Yep still no mention of the word refugees.....................

Refugees dont NEED work, they should be housed in a REFUGEE camp where their needs are met and nothing else.

When do you let them out? What if this conflict is so bad they cant return home for 25 years? Just keep them locked up like chickens

Short term I can agree with you in theory, putting that into practice is immensely difficult though.

I mean look at the african refugee camps in Rwanda what were set up, they were horrific places

Setting up camps in the warzone is hilariously stupid.

With that logic we'll have to let in half of the Greek population!

You're in favour of that too aren't you, as you're not a hypocrite...?

They are EU citizens, they can already come here.

Yeah apart from that point, was in the news recently about the amount of young greeks that are indeed leaving when they dont want to due to the economy.

If the tables were turned I'd have no doubt that British people would be moving abroad to find work, I can't be a hypocrite when I can say that I'd be trying to do that myself, I've already been tempted by better wages abroad!
