Yeah mate, you have some catching up to do.. I downloaded that patch a whole 3 days ago! :D

Seriously though, you'll be up to speed in a couple days max. Other than the House of Wolves story, you can pretty much ignore the rest of that DLC. It was good fun at the time but you're not missing out on anything. Trials of Osiris was where the real game was at but that'll be back again soon.
 
The damage seems to be all over the place. I had a 200 damage legendary and a 244 damage blue.
 
The whole class item having defence is really annoying, I'm currently wearing what can only be described as a six year old girl's urban camo cape :(
 
Anything you acquired from packages (ie faction packages) seem to spec the items based on your current light level. I have some NM boots which speced at 245 and same with a sniper. Dropped a chest later on and also a shotgun and both at the same level (slightly higher than previously)

It's a bit of a state now really. Having light level tied into weapons and cloaks means I can no longer simply choose to use what I like the look of, its all down to what is best to fit the need.
I too have a 6 year old girls cape and it's lame.
 
It's certainly all a bit of a mess, I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't read up about these changes online because you would be all sorts of confused with the year 2 changes.

So far Taken King feels very much like the original, high production values (better than the previous DLC) but thin on actual content. It's a shame as the core handling feels sooooo good but there's not much meat on those bones.
 
Thin on content? I did an 11 hour stint yesterday and still have loads of stuff to do for the first time.

As regards being 'stuck' with certain gear...that's what infusion is for. Once you've been playing longer you'll be able to start infusing gear to get the load out you want not just whatever has the highest light.
 
I'm off work today so I'll be online all day running story missions etc on all 3 characters. I didn't get a chance to get on yesterday at all.

For some reason it let me download HoW for free last night. Don't recall buying the bundle when I bought the Crota DLC, but I guess I must have! Ended up getting TTK as well...

Played a bit last night and it was weird seeing all my armour and weapons at 150/160. Seems easier to level up though which is a bit of a relief given my 32s :rolleyes:

No idea what I'm doing item wise but hopefully I'll pick up a few more goodies from the storyline before I have to start spamming strikes again :D

might see you on buddy - first bit of advice is do everything in the tower (i.e. run around like a yo-yo talking to each character in the tower for half a darn hour) then start the story missions.

After the third one go grab the quest from the tower vanguard chaps and go do it (think its on Venus). Get your new super/sub-class then continue.

You get given some cruddy white weapons in the tower - DO NOT DELETE, you'll need them for some cruddy quest.

Have to agree with others - Feel as if the game is all over the place at the moment whilst it all sinks in. I thought Yr1 was complicated to start with but all this defense/light poo blows the mind and takes it more from a simple FPS to an intermeddiate MMO - I don't initially like it tbh.
 
picking my CE up from post office in 40 min well ticked off that the guy didnt arrive before i left for work yesterday as zoomee can testify :(
 
So...Mine only just patched this morning, Checked my add on and it says DLC is installed, Was that done in the big 17gb patch? The mrs did put all my codes in for me yesterday?

Im just wanting to know will i actually be able to play the DLC tonight or when i attempt a DLC mission will it download even more stuff :/
