The labour Leader thread...

You don't see that accepting free sandwiches from a company that you're accusing of tax avoidance could be viewed as having double standards?

Do you work for a right-wing tabloid, or have you just been conditioned?

As I said before, there are no tax-avoidance issues with Costa (quite the opposite - they got a top mark (meaning good performance) by Ethical Consumer for "potential for tax avoidance". Not that it would be especially relevant in the circumstances.

Hmm, his first question is "why are rents so high/uncapped" and his second question is "why did you allow rents to fall 1%"..

Perhaps choose two non-contradictory questions to start with in future?

This is boring. This is the one time of the week where I want to see punch and Judy politics!!! Not questions from Steve and Paul, whoever the hell Steve and Paul are.

Must say this new method of his is painful to watch..... It's taking twice as long to get through a question as he is explaining stuff we do not need to know.

Ask a question get a answer. I don't need to know or care if Steve, Paul or Sarah asked the damn question.

Isn't that a colossal waste of time tho? Not for the opposition, but for the people in government, who surely have better things to do than perform in some pantomime. At least, I hope they do.

But that's the key to this, it makes a personal/normal person asking this question.

It's quiet a clever tactic to get the people on his side, he could be seen as a man of the people, and someone who stands up for the average man in the street, that will get him votes and backing from the people that win him a GE.

The problem in the past has been that Cameron doesn't actually answer the question without mudslinging at labour. This new way ensures that the snake actually has to answer

Maybe works once or twice but keep doing it and people see straight through it like Nick 'Media Training' Clegg.

The questions were far too generic and open ended. Cameron can swat this sort of fluff away all day long.

He needs some much more specific questions if he's to win any kind of respect.

I could never ever vote for a Prime Minister who wanted to do away with our nuclear deterrent. He could promise me the world, but I still couldn't condone us having no nuclear ability. Too dangerous nowadays.

I was suprised

I thought it was a far better way of questioning a PM
Sort of "this is whats happening, what are you going to do about it"

it leaves Cameron nowhere to go other than a)answer the question straight or b)repeat the standard economy/labours fault statement

rather than the old way of lame joke slappdowns

Whenever Cameron tried to be snarky it just made him look unreasonable, to the point that he had to stop himself doing it several times

edit : if his defence policies turn out like people predict then I wouldnt vote for him - but his PMQ style is intresting so far
