need to find out whats the average price of clothes in a males wardrob

You need to account for variables such as the age of the male, I've got a vango coat that cost £480 18 years ago it's worth nothing now but I'm not gona throw it out while it has a conceivable use, just like loads of other clothes cluttering my house.

Depends, it is stuff I wear to work, you are talking hundreds.

An odd question, you been on lemonade? :p

Edit: I thought you meant altogether, I guess £40 shirts, around the same trousers, but £100+ Jackets etc...

I'm happy with the cheap brands myself. Asda £9 trousers for work. At the end of the day its work. They did used to be £6...

Not a lot. I tend to set myself a garment limit and only buy in the sale (still get branded stuff usually)

For casual stuff:

t shirt - no more than £10
polo shirt - no more than £15
jumper - no more than £25
shorts - no more than £20
jeans/trousers - no more than £35
shoes - no more than £40

I wear £400 boots, and honest to god nothing has ever been more worthwhile.. I can walk for 20 miles with them, or walk anywhere, and my feet have never ever been so comfortable or 'feeling just right'... But everything else is cheap crap, as it all feels the same on my body apart from the feet.

Probably 1.5k to 2k cost of replacement (more if expensive designer clothes, suits etc.)

You would be surprised. Most people vastly under estimate the total cost based on new for old if you had a fire tomorrow.

It can easily lead you to be underinsured on your contents policy.

According to research the uk average for men is £1,212.

Surprised it's so low really. All my suits cost more than that before we even get to the rest.

I recently moved house and had to purchase contents insurance. I was going to go for the minimum amount due to a rather substantial downsizing until I went through my wardrobe and calculated new for old.
