Im not a football fan at all! But me and my brother used to play this soo much! It popped into my head the other day, just how bad the commentary was :D

Was a konami game i think so maybe evolved into pro evo or something?

I have International Superstar Soccer 98. My brother donated his N64 and games to me last year.

Sadly I have no interest in football games, but I do remember all the players having rip off names such as 'Sherer'.
The commentary has aged very badly, 'Super strike!'.

I had International Superstar Soccer on the SNES and it was brilliant. The commentary was great, I think he used to say he was Alan Johnston or something similar. It was so easy to score as you just ran towards the goal until the keeper came towards you then you could just turn left/right and side step him to put it in the back of the net.

The only football game i ever played. Unbelievably fun. Loved creating my own players in an attempt to get the best overall stats possible and then run the team through euro and world cup. The AI at level 5 difficulty were insane imo.

From Wikipedia

International Superstar Soccer is the name of a series of football video games developed by Japanese company Konami, mostly by their Osaka branch, Konami Computer Entertainment Osaka (KCEO), the series is known as Jikkyō World Soccer in Japan. It should not be confused with Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo's Pro Evolution Soccer series (also known as Winning Eleven)

Little bit further looking it appears that PES was called ISS Pro before PES, whereas ISS was just ISS. Both games were released at the same time.

And looking at the pics on Wiki it was International Superstar Soccer Pro on the Playstation I remember playing, don't remember playing ISS on the 64 however.

All very confusing if you ask me :)

I though ISS pro was ISS lol, i did own ISS pro 97 on the Playstaion one the fake names and the commentary was a joke.

I used to love this game but always remember injury time being massively bugged, I.e if you set the half length to six minutes you'd play 6 then get 3 more minutes of injury time so knew you had loads of time to make a come back.
