Up until this incident I saw this happening all the time while we were abroad, we'd be around the bar and some parent would say 'I'll go and look on the kids' .
To be honest we've still noticed adults minus the kids during the evening so it still goes on.
When I was a child it was normal to leave your kids in chalets at Butlins & Pontins with a voice booming over the Club PA "Baby crying in chalet 127".
 
Very irresponsible though, I certainly wouldn't leave a child especially at that age whilst I was out eating dinner, Madeleine's case is a prime example why you shouldn't! regardless as to what happened to her.

I am just letting my daughter out to play now and she is 8 going on 9.

They in the wrong they know it, hence the continued publicity and charad they are portraying. :mad:

I would not leave my child alone in a foreign country no matter what.

They ****ed up and they know it. You do not leave children unattended in a foreign environment period. :mad:

At home yes you can run the shop for say 10min, but they went out on the lash and left the kids alone for over an hour so they say.

Just no, on so many levels.

I like a drink but I would never ever leave my daughter alone to have a drink. :(

Its sad but they really screwed up as parents and they know it.

So if you nipped out to the shops for 10 minutes in this country and got home and YOUR child was missing would you stop searching?
A very simple question.
 
So it is neglect then as they have admitted they left their children every night?

I too have done neglect and despite what the NSPCC site says it is an ostensible remark to make that it has to be ongoing, neglect takes many forms (eating, safety, education etc).

Particularly of note is that neglect becomes actionable immediately where there has been a significant incident. That's from the head of Child Protection.. I would class a disappearance of this nature to be one such example
 
The parents are murderers, i honestly believe they killed her. They seem to be living a luxurious lifestyle after her disappearance. Charity donations used to pay off mortgage, what a disgrace!

Honestly makes my blood boil, the pair of them should be in jail!!

I know this story and I know as a parent with a very intelligent and understanding child. ;)
They are irresponsible as parents and the guilt is ****ing killing them, so we pay for it.

Other than interview anyone who was in a 2 hour range of the resort I fail to see what can be gained from more millions spent.

They are still quoting the man carrying the girl asleep, yet eliminated him from the investigation years ago.
 
Shes gone, as if ANY human trafficker would have that kind of heat on them.
And you will never catch them, these ganags have done a good job not having traces etc.
 
I have never like the idea that since that first day she has refused to answer questions when interviews by the Portuguese police. And because they viewed them as a suspect she left Portugal after the first days questioning and never returned for day two.

It's amazing to think such a high profile case and the mother has never been questioned further after the initial witness statement. Or basically the hour of questioning the police when she refused to answer each question.
