Madeleine McCann investigation 'cost £10 million to date'

They did it, or were heavily involved, ever since all they seem to care about is making money.

The fact that they left the kid in the first place is despicable enough. Horrible people.

This isn't the one but it holds practically all the same info. To be honest, it's more in-depth that what I actually remember reading.

No tin foil hat nonsense. All quotations and verifiable facts.

Point 2 contains the info about the dogs as I'd stated (though what I said was from memory so not entirely 100% accurate).

Very interesting read!!! Especially the cadaver and blood dog bit. Shocking that a lot of this evidence has been ignored.

The fact that hotel room and car have never had deaths according to records. Wow.

I have tried to stay out of these discussions as much as possible but all I will say is I hope the truth comes out one day - regardless of the outcome.

So it is neglect then as they have admitted they left their children every night?

So you have proof they also did this in England every night?
Sitting 100 yards from the room by a bar on holiday is not NEGLECT no matter how many sprinkles you put on it.

they can keep looking for as long as they want, the taxpayer should not be footing the bill when they have the money available that they do.

Agreed

For all you who talk about NEGLECT and how any other parents would be prosecuted here are a couple of recent cases where I thought they were a lot worse for 'leaving' the kids.

The first one is a 7 year old boy who regularly went to a park 2 miles away and accidentally died - https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=boy+died+pipe+park

This one is April Jones a 5 year old who also played a big distance away from her home - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-22353735

Neither of these cases were charges bought against the parents for Neglect because it isn't and I thought these two were far worse.
At least the McCanns thought their kids were sleeping and looked in on them every 30 minutes (STILL STUPID THOUGH).

I thought the point is there didn't check every half like they they claimed. Every two hours I think they ended up doing.

Plus they left the door unlocked in case of fire.

And two nights earlier maddie had run away and they had to find her yet this time they immediately ran around saying she had been abducted before they had even looked for her.

And they formed a limited company within 2 days for fundraising.

I'd still be searching rather than think about fund raising at that time.

And as for them flying a legal team over so the dog evidence couldn't be used is odd too.

And her washing maddie's favourite you before forensics could check it. Really? Your daughter is missing so you wash her favourite toy?

This case always seems to bring out the idiots and their half-baked theories they cobbled together from reading headlines in The Sun 5 years ago.

No really. Just read the police reports and interviews. Form your own conclusions. After reading them tell me you don't think they look at least a little bit suspect and should at least be investigated?

Charity donations used to pay off mortgage, what a disgrace!

They didn't pay off their mortgage, they only used it for two payments and this was approved by fund directors at the time. They also stopped using it as soon as they became suspects:

The fighting fund set up to help find Madeleine McCann was used by her parents to make two mortgage payments, their spokesman has said.

Clarence Mitchell said: "The fund has always had the ability to assist the family financially if necessary."

He said Kate and Gerry McCann stopped using the fund in September when they were made formal suspects in the case.

... Mr Mitchell said Mr and Mrs McCann began using it earlier this year to help pay their mortgage.

"When they were made arguido [suspects], it stopped, which was a mutual decision on the part of the fund and the McCanns," he said.

"They were happy to accept that their changed status meant they were no longer entitled to that assistance."

What makes this case so special?

The mystery factor. Madeleine vanished without a single trace or clue, and no culprit has never been found.

The longest running missing persons case is that of Renee MacRae, who vanished in 1976. 39 years later, her case is still open. So Maddie has a few years to go if she wants to beat the record.
