Might have just used a lower quality leather for the dash and console coverings, and a high quality leather for the seats? Hence why it looks different. But it does look like it is matte (possibly soft touch) plastic. Unsure...

Either way I still think it looks fab!

Meanwhile, Toyota decided to use about 6 different types of plastic, of varying qualities in my car. Its ridiculous and hideous!

I agree, just looked back at the pictures, love it.

Noticed it is the 306 BHP S Drive 35i and not the 330 BHP 35is but the JB4 will fix that issue

Should be ok. I've read on the forums that more than 450bhp the clutches will start to slip.

It's what the guys at Furniture Clinic said when I enquired about the bolster recolouring. They said their finishing layer is harder wearing than BMW's finisher used on convertible models, which in itself is harder wearing than the non convertibles. BMW dealers had no clue (as you'd expect) when quizzed.

One of the few hard top convertibles I like the look of with the roof up as well as down.

As long as you don't go too mad with the mappings. Stick to Map 3 or 4 out of 5 and should be fine. Was ok with the 335i I did it to.

According to Wiki the 35i does have the N54 engine.
