New X99 PC, ram 31.9 usable from total 32gb

Hi,
I built new system with
MSI X99A SLi Krait
5820k
8GBx4 Kingston HyperX Fury 2666c15
I built many PC's and never had the missing 100mb before, just wondering is that commom with x99 boards? I think it is something related to uefi bios
Everything looks good but the ram in showing 32GB installed and 31.9GB usable

It'll be the onboard Intel graphics chip taking some for VRAM. It's normal unless you disable the Intel graphics.

5820k doesn't have intel graphics.

Both machines have onboard intel graphics disabled

It's just hardware reserved memory. Nothing to worry about

every pc has this. If it was intel HD Graphics it would take a lot more in a different way. (shared memory) but again would be no problem. Just ram and windows working together.

Not all systems display it (but it's still there). Software like resource monitor would report this figure though.

My X99 system also reports 15.9GB available, I don't think it's too unusual or anything to worry about, given the system has been stable since the X99 release.

Mine shows the same, its normal. 32gb (31.8gb Usable). It's reserved for the bios use. Although for some updating to the latest bios fixes this.

Hardware reserved, I have 16GB and available is 15.9, it is normal man.
