Missing 15yr Old Girl

I can't argue with that. I can be a ****. But I'm honest and I'm not deliberately trying to be a provocateur, I just have an arrogance about me which winds people up, but trust me, I try not to be like this. What you read is what I actually think. Sorry if that upsets you. I'm really not a bad guy you know :)

You do realise this entire thing would have been avoided had you, upon being politely challenged by burnsy for your "she's probably fine" theory, not then tried to argue with him about it.

I really hope you've at least shared the HantsPol post on Facebook or something to make up for it.

Agreed. I'm partially sighted and I've always read his handle as Silver. No offence to you though Sliver, as I do agree with most of your posts in other threads on GD.

Thanks. First positive feedback I've had this evening. I hope your offspring become world leaders and vanquish stupidity wherever they find it. :D

Can some mod please ban sliver till he grow a conscience.

Regardless of previous history there seems to be great concern for this girl.
The police have already made a number of appeals on fb. etc

Hopefully she will be found soon.

Don't get too cocky son, as your Silver balls will soon be turned to a nickel colour on this forum! :p:D

Just thinking now...

She must have a mobile phone, can her mobile signal not be triangulated to within a few hundred meters?

Depending on her phone, speculation of course she has one. But the must be a ability to locate a person with a smart phone?

The networks can, yes. The actual process of getting it done is a bit more complicated. A lot of social networks and other companies that could help police in these sorts of situations will often refuse to because they don't want the expense or hassle of dealing with it.

Indeed. I seem to be courting disaster in this thread. If you would all stop replying to me I could quietly leave. :(

I have warmed your coat up for you mate! :D

Lock the gate on the way out! :p

Am busting balls! :D

If mobile operators can find people and the police ask as in missing person problem no snooping, what is the problem?

People who don't want to be found have £10 throw away phones, the police know this. But this kid will be legit and her number can be located. Unless the phone is turned off.

It can be turned back on if it is.. ;)

With all respect, I wouldn't be posting this for most run of the mill missing people. We search for many teenagers who go missing and most turn up but this case is different and the Police are very much justified in being very concerned.

Can I ask a general question? often I see on FB loads of people posting pics/names etc of a teenager that has been missing for a few hours

I often look at them and think if they have just gone off for a while for some teenager related issue (long time since I was one) this is putting one hell of a lot of attention and pressure on them and I'm not convinced that it's always a good idea

I don't think expense/hassle is why they don't do it.

It's because you would need a court order to release such information even to the police. Ok she's underage which may/may not have an impact on things, but if a network released private information without a court order they could potentially be in serious trouble even from the girl's own parents.

Burnsy questions?

Is her phone off or on?

If it is off what is the last know location of signal transmission from her phone?

Last logon to facebook?

It seems to me as the is some impending danger to this person that is known to you or your force
before the disappearance.

Its the 21st century find the kid.

Do your best o7. ;)

And if her phone isn't in her possession?

Do you honestly think they don't do this almost as a matter of course in these circumstances.
So many questions and presumptions. Just share the damn link and move on to the next topic.
