Originally a GTi
Now has 20v turbo (AGU w/AUM managment) bolted to a diesel box
It's in a very reasonable condition, it's been painted a few years ago, not the best job in the world but I'll be painting it anyway so it's a nice easy base to start from

I'll be doing what many of you will consider ruining it, but hey-ho
Not sure what colour yet, I'm in between a bright colour baby blue or similar or a real nice pearly ruby or something.
It'll be going on air and getting different wheels.
It's bog standard 150 bhp ATM, this will be going up to 250 ish, then maybe NOS. After going out on the cruise in a mates car who runs in our VWDRC club who entered in street eliminator at the Euro finals @ pod the other week - I have been heavily influenced

Why not just make it a nice colour then make it handle? 150/180bhp should be plenty in a mk2 for track work

Oak Green, Coil overs, BBs splits and small bumpers.

I always think small bumpers look better with single headlights.

Shame so many Mk2s got ruined during the 90's/2000's Fast & Furious styling.

I had one just like it, one of the first cars I bought when I stopped riding motorbikes.

Pity mine ended up being stolen/recovered. But I had a great time with it.

This is my first golf :-)

Diesel box is better ratios, 60 mph is only 2k rpm. Petrol boxes will accelerate quicker but Max out much earlier.
Even only with 150 bhp it pulls quite well. So 220-240 should improve that a fair bit

I can't see the pics for some reason. I used to have a big bumper atlas grey 16v gti back in the day. Man I loved that car and was so sad to see it go.

Anyone remember the a guy a few years back that created an awesome Mk2 Golf from a mint 1.3 shell, caged, 20V turbo with lots of power? Think he lived on a farm in Wales, have a feeling it got destroyed in a fire?
