Jen-Hsun Huang, NVIDIA co-founder, president, and CEO

I have no alliances to either AMD or Nvidia, but i found i could watch Jen Hsun Huaung very easily, it wasn't static and difficult to watch like with Lisa of AMD.

That Fury X press launch thing with the Famous "Overclockers Dream" was so bloody awkward to watch.

You'd be very much wrong about that.

If you truly didn't care you wouldn't have felt the need to respond. You also can't state "Nobody cares" as you can't speak for everyone :)

It's clear Jen is a very clued up guy in this industry, you don't get a company like nVidia in the position they are 23 years later from trying to cheese everything.

I really do enjoy watching these PR pieces and I really enjoyed watching the last AMD E3 event as well but there is no excusing what Joe Macri claimed (who is also the CTO of AMD) when he made false claims. I bought the Fury X expecting it to "overclock like no tomorrow" (we built this for the overclockers he also said)

I responded as the vast majority on here know he has 4 of numerous cards, bringing it up again is hardly news. And for the limited amount of gaming i do and the once in a blue moon benchmarking anything over 1 card currently would be a dramatic waste, so no, i don't care.

definitely rushed off stage :D

In an industry full of porkie pie tellers. Intel stating that 5ghz on air would be possible on devils canyon cpu's, AMD calling fury x an overclockers dream. Tbh I take all the sales blurbs with a spoonful of salt.:D

this with any salesman.its their job :D

I was genuinely excited to get my hands on a Fury X at launch and I gave it a very fair review but part of me buying was what joe Macri said (being that I really do enjoy benching).

No way was he rushed off stage and he looked pretty relaxed to me. Raja looked nervous, as did Lisa Su but defending what joe said comes across as something a shill would say.

Id have no reason to not believe his words and I bought my Fury x's under the assumption that they would be an "overclockers dream".

I wonder where you'd stand in returning if it turns out they don't clock well at all.

See what you did there, you justified only having one card when you didn't need to. Two GM200 cards is a nice place to be at 4k. One is a little trying.

Show me where it says "overclockers dream" in AMD slides or official materials?

No? Yeah I think we're done here. Also can't help but notice nobody ever calls out JHH on his hyperbole or tongue-slips like this.

I take it you didn't watch the video then and just assumed we made it up?

you mean like the 970 thread? and the issues with reviewers being mislead? Yeah no one brings any of it up. There's just a massive thread about it.

Point is that AMD tried to appear less synthetic and do a meet the family type PR event unscripted un-practiced and they fell foul.

I mean "We built these for the overclockers for the gamers, we've got a six phases, 400 amps of power I mean its amazing you're going to be able to overclock this like no tomorrow. It's an overclockers dream" is hardly a slip up.

If i wanted another card id buy it, for the odd game of war thunder a single card is more than enough and lately that's really all i play. Until that changes i will stick with one card. A second card would be utterly wasted for the amount of gaming i've done over the last lot of months.

Come on orangey ffs, it was one of the lead engineers that stated that. Would be different if it was a marketing chimp but it came directly from someone who would know what he's talking about. And putting overclockers dream on slides would be pointless as we all know all cards have different limits on overclocking.

Well spoken, and the actual fact of the matter is the VRM on this card actually doesn't perform all that well when under exterted stress from what it uses at stock on-top of the fact there is little headroom on Fiji.

Essentially, being on stage and saying something is one thing when it is pretty much the exact opposite...It's not the end of the world, no...but it's something to add to the list of paper tiger hidden smoke.

When you look at the huge headroom Maxwell has from it's base and even boost clocks on various cards - it would have made more sense for NVIDIA to use this as a sell.

Wonder what Orangeys opinion would be if nVidia's lead engineer made a claim like that which turned out to be untrue.

I'm very surprised you're trying to defend them on that I always thought you were one of the more rational ones.
