Living with my lovely Girlfriend I notice certain things are my job, and other things are hers.

Things we are both equally capable of seem to naturally fall towards one or the other.

Examples would be..

Evening Meals - Me
Packed Lunches - Her
Dealing with Tradesmen - Me
Laundry - Her
Mowing the Lawn - Me
Vacuuming - Her
Dealing with Sky/Virgin - Me
Dealing with Water/Gas/Council Tax - Her
Driving Places - Me
Buying Presents for Family/Friends - Her

Either one of us could do this stuff but we have both chosen our paths :D

How do things work in your house?

Anyone have Girlfriends/Wives who hang shelves or chop wood? :)

That's about it for me.

You are all sexist pigs!!!! Women earn 10% more than men now aged 21-35 that is sexist because women should be being paid 200% what men earn to make up for all the extra earning they got... No I don't have a car made by a man. I hope you men are going to pay the portion of £145bn worth of work your treated like servants women do when you are busy "mowing the lawn" you don't deserve to be paid for that

Yes I do have a tash but its because of HRT which the patriarchy force me to have :roll eyes:

*Feminazi walks away

^ what a crazy

Cooking mostly me, gardening DIY mostly me, hoovering 70/20/10 split (mrs/me/kids)

All other stuff as and when

Yes! My wife loves woodwork (there's a joke in there somewhere...) and always does jobs around the house. I do the odd thing here and there, but she's always been the practical one. She even seriously considered doing an apprenticeship and taking up furniture making as a living. Then we had kids.

We have a pretty good system. She's a full-time mom, so she has to deal with the kids all day and make dinner. Then I'll do dishes, laundry and tidy in the evening. I also make breakfast every morning, mow the lawns, clean cat litters and scoop dog poop. She does any DIY around the house.

It's taken over 10 years, but I think we've finally settled into a routine that avoids any fighting :)

Cooking is shared. She makes better roasts though so she tends to do them.

She washes dishes, I dry. I dust, we share vacuuming, I clean the bathrooms, she cleans the kitchen.

Windows are me or that man we pay.

Cars are me.

Washing is shared.

DIY is me.

Lawns are me. Weeding is her.

I'm fine with the balance - she works full time, I'm retired/doing a degree so I have more time to do those things.

Unless it's a specifically "Manly Job" (putting up shelves - wiring plugs etc) the the Missus takes care of "Housey" stuff which also includes the finances.

This is what I do ....

Seriously.... She's been a Housewife ever since we were married 28 years ago (by her choice) and I earn the stuff.

At the end of the week she gives me my two pounds pocket money !!
