I see people drawing parallels on this aspect to WW2, etc. but the reality often is that in their homeland there might not be a straight choice of who to fight for (in some cases for instance the whole population pretty much want the government gone but don't agree with the actions of the rebel groups either), the various factions/governments often don't have a proper army structure and/or the resources and so on - its one thing to put your life on the line as part of an organised and equipped military structure and another to have an ak47 thrust at you and chucked out there as cannon fodder.
Slovakia won't accept quotas and will appeal to the European Court of Justice.

Yeah I said something similar in the thread before. I have no problem with people fleeing this conflict.
But the second those people take up violence in the EU, all that sympathy is lost. If they want to fight, they should be fighting in their own country. Not fighting against us, in something akin to a tantrum that they aren't getting exactly what they want.
Spot on - one thing that has to change about extant treaties on refugees is that host nations should be able to revoke refugee status and deport them if their hospitality is abused e.g. if the refugee commits a criminal offence. I'm sick of hearing about cases like where asylum seekers or refugees commit awful crimes such as murder, rape, death by dangerous driving but we still have to host them because the poor dear might be persecuted in his own country.
Speaking of which, anyone remember that WPC in Bradford I think it was who was murdered on duty by a gang of Somalis who were robbing a travel agents? One of the gang, who was either a refugee or an asylum seeker actually fled back to Somalia whilst wearing a burkha. We're a soft touch and the problem with being soft is that other people will find out and take advantage - oh like these gimme-grants are doing.
I like this idea. The people of Syria shouldn't just captitulate like they have done. With training and advanced technology they would have the upper hand over ISIS. They are already adept at running and climbing over barb wire fences.
It's obvious to me that the mass displacement of people will cause problems in the long run. Once the disruption starts native Europeans won't have that luxury of moving to greener pastures. Countries like Hungary and Slovakia will have built a West Bank style barrier by that point.

Where did I make one? I explicitly state I did not condone any violence.
I was pointing out that the poster was essentially being racist by comparing a white Englishman moving to another country on a Visa and not feeling the need to riot was incomparable with a Syrian refugee who has been forced from his homeland.
Even if you think they lost all right to sympathy once they passed through a safe country you believe they should have stayed in (with no forethought to whether they are welcome there, if they can be housed of course), you still have to see what the real message of the post I quoted was "These foreigners are inherently violent".
The massive irony is all these people posting riot scenes from refugee camps seem to have short memories. You're condemning another people for rioting against bad living conditions whilst you live in a country where just 4 years ago our own rioted because they wanted some new trainers and an HD TV.
...having said that, I know a few names in here that will read that last paragraph and say "yeah but that was the black's fault and they are immigrants too innit".
It will mix nicely with the **** coming out of your mouth

How many safe countries must they pass through to get to western Europe...quite a few!
Also...and this is a serious question so let's not have the usual trolls give naff answers...why are the countries that the vast vast vast majority of these people coming from all majority muslim states? Countries in their geographical regions without the level of religion that they have seem to, on the whole, be far more stable.

My hypothesis is that it is because of language and Europe as a destination has gone viral on the Arabic Internet. The number of websites that are in Arabic is much less than English, some 0.8% of the web, so news will travel fast in the Arabic-literate world.
You are correct that most migrants come from muslim countries, and yes they are less stable. But if you combine Muslim people with other religions or sects it becomes even more unstable. History has told us this many times. The Yugoslav Wars, Lebanon, Sudan, India/Pakistan etc. The only thing that can be expected is war and balkanization of states. I think the notion of 'integration' should be irrelevant in this discussion as it's a futile endeavour.
