Hey Guys,

I don't currently meet the requirements to enter the members market (I don't post enough on here) and I was wondering what you guys would do as an alternative for selling second hand hardware?

Obviously my main objective is to sell the items to buy lovely OcUK stuff :P

as others have said, avoid the bay, seen far too many posts on here about people getting screwed over.

your only 536 posts away!!

1000 posts and been a member for 180 days

I know but its took me about 2 years to get 500 posts haha. Yeah she was mugged in a public carpark in Birmingham with people around. Guess the problem in that equation is Birmingham!

You're taking a gamble at any second hand distant selling but our measures in the MM limit the risk by quite a margin. Members moan and groan about the stringent rules we enforce but they are there to make trading a little more fairer and safer. That's not to say we don't have problems but they are the exception and in most cases they are resolved.

Yeah I can understand that. Its funny but I look at this forum a couple of times a day Mon-Fri at work for the last 2 years but I just read what other have said rather than jotting down my own opinions. I guess I just need to post a bit more really :P

Think of all the tansactions on ebay that go by without issue and don't end up with countless pages of whining on here. They are not all bad

Just use the bay for now and cover yourself as much as possible before sending, take as many photos as you can, especially serial numbers or anything that can identify it's the exact item you sent.

If you make a typo in the MM you get a 7 day ban :p :p

I kid but the strict rules makes it so you can sell and buy in confidence. Very unlikely a scammer is going to bother to amass 1000 posts to get in.

Im not a member there so I think signing up and then selling things instantly would be a major red light for any of the members.

I signed up and started selling straight away with no issues. If you are happy to send items before taking payment for the first transaction (assuming the buyer has positive Rep), then you should be fine.
