Missing 15yr Old Girl

Just thinking now...

She must have a mobile phone, can her mobile signal not be triangulated to within a few hundred meters?

Depending on her phone, speculation of course she has one. But the must be a ability to locate a person with a smart phone?

It can be triangulated to with 25 metres depending on the technology in use if the phone is still active (attached to network). If GPS is active, applications like Find My iPhone can locate a device to within 10 metres.

Last known camped cell is stored in the HLR/VLR for up to several days.

She's in Bournemouth?

Call the local taxi firms to keep an eye out for the girl and ask the local radio station to put out an appeal.

Huge relief. I would be doing my nut if I was the parent.

Just out of interest, do the same protocols apply to someone who is 18 years old?

I know they would be classed as an adult, but there are plenty less switched on than your average 16 year old.

I have zero background to this story but as a general point....

..spend some time with coppers who work these and other cases and have to deal with childhood 'issues', you come to realise that some of the people we have to share this island with are scum of the very worst sort. Our society contains people who really should be locked up for good or if it were my shout, removed from life. I had first hand experience of one the other week, how he dealt with his child on the street left me speechless, for me a rare occurrence, I still think about it weeks later. This, sadly, was just a glimpse into the life of one child and the country is littered with far worse situations.

Glad this girl is safe.

Can anyone shed any light on the background to this? Did she run away? Or something else?
(I tried to quickly review the posts above but couldnt find anything).
Thanks folks.

Also good to hear shes found!

I doubt it. Given her age I'd be surprised if anyone was told any more than what is already known. I would assume it's also why Burnsy has had to keep a lid on much info. Data protection/privacy etc.

Indeed.

Missing teenage girl stories don't usually end well.

Maybe the ones you hear about don't, but the vast, vast majority of missing person enquiries are resolved without incident. In my area teenage girls make up the majority of our missing, usually from care.
