Its quite funny the amount of people who can't read the legacy bit and have thrown a huge number of coins at it without at least checking. Its pretty well described and if I was spending that many I would at least spend 2 minutes googling.
Cool, is the boss dude soloable as well?
BTW there's an extra time limit on the last part of the daily today. I was just taking my time through it and died due to 'Expunged' right at the end. There was a time but I wasn't paying attention

Hawkmoon is being given out left right and centre these days, all of the people I regularly play with have had it drop at some point since TTK.
I've only got the ruin wings out of the stuff he has for sale this week.

Ran out of strange coins last week doing the three of coins, managed to earn 62 in a week which isn't bad. I think I will buy both gauntless and thats it. I want hawkmoon but have Y1 so can get Y2 version at anytime when I am feeling more flush.

Well... regarding nerfed 3oC.
This video says to just wait 5 mins (same cooldown as heavy synth) after suicide rocket on Scourge Of Winter Boss Cheese, then use another 3oC...
Hmm, haven't got that many coins, so I might leave Hawkmoon and get some 3oC's instead....

Don't know about Y2, but in Y1 my Hawkmoon shredded people in the crucible. It was absolutely ridiculous, those three lucky shots could stack and kill a person in one hit from full health. I was also an avid Thorn user, I'd say that 99% of the time I was in the crucible, I was either mooning or thorning.
Since 2.0 they have both had a massive nerf to range, it's really noticeable. These are both Y1 weapons though, I need to have a go with Y2 to see what they're like.

Edit: Waiting 5 minutes between Draksis kills is also incredibly inefficient. Just get some friends and go into the Vanguard Strike playlist. Most strikes can be done in 10-15 minutes with a decent team, so not only are you getting a decent number of Ultras per hour, you're also going to get a load of engrams from all the other enemies you kill as you go through.
That doesn't necessarily make sense does it. If 5 minutes is the cool down for the ToC to work fully, that's the cool down. Doing a strike playlist won't change that. If you did the cabal brothers quest you will kill one and won't be able to pop another ToC straight away for the bump again.
This being said, they haven't clarified if it's a cool down after an ultra kill or a straight up 5 minutes after you have used the ToC. If it's the latter you pop it at the start of the raid and then again after an ultra kill and you would be fine to kill another straight away.
All the "nerf" did was force you to use the 3ofc as often as they envisaged, ie by doing vanguard strikes and using it before killing the ultra.

Yeah, I was thinking it's a bit daft waiting around that long. You could complete the first part of the mission again in that time. By the time you get to Draksis you'd be able to use the 3oC to finish him off, no need to suicide and like you said, collect a few engrams along the way.

The Cabal Brothers is the only strike that pops into my head where this is an issue. I can't think of another where you fight 2 Ultras so close to each other.
Bungie haven't confirmed anything except what they said in the weekly update and patch notes.....
And...
It might be that the increase in drop chance stays the same for your first two uses (like when doing the Brothers) but that from your 3rd use onwards there is a cool-down in effect. I'm hoping Bungie will add some more clarity at some point so we can all be sure.

I will still spend my strange coin entirely on ToC and just run heroic strikes. I've had my fun and we all knew that it wasn't supposed to be used in the manner we were abusing.

Agreed. It was nice to get some of the best weapons to start, but lately all I was getting was duplicates so I'm not going out of my way to get more of them. I'd rather just do strikes or Court of Oryx and hope to get some good drops that way.
