The EU Migrant Crisis

Some of you make me laugh. What do you want the news to show? If watching BBC news winds you up so much that you have to run to the internet to complain about it then you really need to find a way to channel that energy in a more constructive way.

Why do they never show the migrants causing trouble which loads are doing?

Maybe they are outnumbered by the ones not causing trouble? It seems like you know the truth about the whole situation though so I don't know why you even need to watch the news.

Get in touch with Newswatch if you want the answer to your question as it relates to the BBC specifically.

I have done, I got fobbed off with "The BBC is aware of the varying range of views about the immigration crisis but our correspondents are there on the ground and file reports based on their judgement".

So maybe the news in this country is in tune with the majority of viewers but you can't see it from whatever position you're in?

The vast majority know the truth about the whole situation. Once again though, you can't speak about it or you are shouted down as a racist xenophobe.

All the BBC do is pander to the liberal leftie mob. There's not been one story about the fighting or rapes in the camps that have been reported by other new sources. A news organisation is supposed to report all sids of the story, not just the ones that they think are more palatable for the bleeding hearts.

They do sometimes, but when they do that they don't mention the ones who dont because it doesn't sell papers/get clicks.

I'm not saying that they don't exist either way.

Blackhawk Down starting on Film 4 if anyone wants an insight into the attitude of the gimme-grants from east Africa.

rofl.

I suppose the decepticons are all evil 'gimme-grants' too if we base fact on films? Coming over ere taking all our dark shards...

What other news sources are these? You're portraying your viewpoint as "the truth" and the one held by the majority with absolutely no idea whether that's accurate or not.

That is a bit of an odd reply to be fair, is it reporting then or is it judgemental reporting?

Not judging by all the people I've spoken to about it. I'd say they was reporting to a minority.

So exactly what the second half of that sentence meant then? I'm not denying there's an issue here, but there are a lot of posters who see these people on the move and refuse to believe they are anything other than a horde consisting exclusively of thousands of rapists. You can't have a reasoned discussion with people who have drawn that conclusion. And to them, any reporting other than "look at this scum, let's all hope they die in the cold" is liberal lefty reporting.

I meant the sentence I wrote that you quoted before your reply. "Everyone I talk to thinks x" doesn't make it a majority opinion, it means that you speak to a lot of people who think the same thing about an issue.

Well yes, except surveys tend to try and get a valid cross-section of society to make the survey results worth having.

I put the question to you that maybe the way it's reported in the UK (because let's be honest it isn't a BBC-exclusive thing, the coverage is very similar across the BBC, ITN, Sky as well as the papers) is in tune with the majority. Just because the people you spoke to feel strongly opposed to that doesn't mean it can't be a majority opinion.

Afaik the survey you are referring to is just referring to migrant figures entering the UK. If there's been a survey done about what people think about this whole situation then shove a link in this thread.

Like what exactly? I wrote to the BBC and got no reply. It is law that we pay for a service that is blatantly left wing and pro-immigration. You can disagree, great I will disagree and then we're both nullified, but I will still 'run' on here and anywhere else and speak my mind.

If they were blatantly left-wing they'd have been all over the Cameron story last week. The BBC are generally pro-establishment, they are no more left-wing than any other media organisation. Digging out some pictures/video from a foreign language blog with an anti-Muslim agenda and then shouting about why the BBC aren't showing them is a really daft thing to try and tarnish them with.
