Well what do you want from them? What UK news outlet is doing a non liberal lefty job at reporting this story, in your opinion?
 
This is about the BBC and you just said they are "no more left-wing than any other media organisation" which is pure claptrap. I'm certainly not going to waste my time discussing the ins and outs of other news sources with someone who says that.
 
The tabloids reported it, including the DM, probably the most right wing newspaper in existence.

It was a nothing story that the likes of the BBC wouldn't touch because it's no more than the claim of a cheesed off ex Cameron buddy.

So you don't approve of the way any UK news outlets are handling this migration story? Seeing as none of them are banging on about rapists as much as you'd like?

Nevertheless it's a fact that a UN operation to stop people starving to death in Somalia was attacked by Somalis who preferred their own tribal gang culture to law and order. Yes perhaps the UN nations involved (including USA were naive), but I think it's a bit rich to complain about the situation in your own country when US, Pakistani and other nations' soldiers died trying to help you.

It's about balanced reporting which is not going on.

All the pictures you see of the migrants in newspapers are made up of about 90% young healthy men all abandoning their own country to come and get on the European gravy train. Yet the BBC never really show this. Instead, they cherry pick cases of young children, elderly people and ill people.

Be balanced in reporting. There's many needy genuine cases and there's many migrants causing serious disorder and harm.

Show them both.

It would have been a better point if you hadn't tried to present Black Hawk Down as a documentary.

I think the book is certainly worth a read, the film definitely has added Holywood cheese, but does stay reasonably faithful to the book.
 
How Somalis loyal to a warlord who is keeping them fed in a country in the middle of a famine act when a foreign power attempts to end that warlords reign is maybe slightly different to how they might act when wandering into another country.

There are undoubtedly a lot of cultural issues that risk getting imported when a bunch of people turn up in a country, but you lose that point if you try and sensationalise it with a movie reference.

It's not really a question that can be answered, if you look at the UK there have been waves of immigration for as long as this island has existed. And the quality of life has improved steadily during that time. But correlation != causation, and you'd never really be able to prove whether one happened in spite of the other or because of it.

I don't think 20,000 over five years counts as mass immigration. What Germany is doing might count, it will probably take a while for the figures to come out though. I think the key is going to be how the new arrivals are distributed around the countries that take them in. I'm glad we aren't part of Schengen though, it means we get to see our government mess this one up all by themselves.

Because based on taking genuine refugees from genuine refugee camps who are genuinely at risk of death I support immigration.

I can't make my point simpler than that but saying anything in support of even selective immigration gets you labelled as a bleeding heart liberal lefty on here.

I'm right wing too, but I do agree that taking genuine refugees from the camps is the right thing to do. And 4,000 a year is manageable. This may sound selfish, but it wouldn't really affect me anyway as there are none earmarked for my area. The vast majority are being whisked up north.

However, I worry about how long it will be before the PM's arm is twisted, and when I say twisted, I mean blackmail, by the EU, and we start letting in all and sundry from Europe.

And we must enforce our borders strongly to prevent illegal immigration from Europe.
