Hajj pligrimage crush

In this particular thread I think he problem is that the below policy (which was s to be applauded):

Is not being applied in the case of B&W using "fat lazy Arabs". Which would quite easily fall under casual racism/bigotry.

I missed that - thanks for pointing it out. I see there was no RTM either so clearly dowie didn't feel that aggrieved by it.

Two different things. The first is quite popular these days due to the political climate but it doesn't make it right so I'll point it out when ever I can.

I do not Dislike a person based on there race so I am not racist. I dislike them on there individual character or attributes they possess.

And a common trend among Saudi elites is to think of them selves better then other Muslims due to the fact the prophet Muhammad was born in there region. I despise them almost as much as isis.

Your comment about "fat lazy Arabs" is a bit of a sweeping comment and was probably a poor choice of words.

I urge you to rethink that comment and perhaps your choice of " Saudi Elite" or even "Fat lazy Saudi elites" is more acceptable than using the Arab qualifier?

Prince Salman convoy triggered Hajj stampede: Report

Of course:

"However, officials in Saudi Arabia have denied the report, calling it "incorrect." The Saudi health minister has blamed the pilgrims for the tragedy. "If the pilgrims had followed instructions, this type of accident could have been avoided," Khaled al-Falih said. "

Just no responsibility from the Saudis as expected.

Looks to be an unverified claim so far and only the Iranian/media is running with this report and with Iran and Saudi relations being at an all time low, they will look to clutch at any straw to make the Saudi's look bad.

Shambolic as always from the Saudis. Treating lives of others as unimportant.

Dont you get sick and tired of ranting about the same old bs, do you really expect me to believe you care so much about arabs that you think im offending and being racist to them over a harmless comment. It's got you in such a twist.

Or is it again to do with you proving something against muslims.

hmm I wonder...

where did I say I cared - I just pointed out that it was amusingly ironic that someone could complain about 'muslim bashing' when making an openly racist statement in the same post

What's your problem?

it isn't my problem per say, not my forum, I just decided to point it out - tis yours (collectively) and it is one of inconsistency

We're trying to move away from the bad old days of acceptable racist/intolerant behaviour or at least where casual racism/bigotry was overlooked. I don't mean this to turn to a soft and cuddly forum where people cannot express an opinion - but we expect people to express it with a little common sense, empathy and a bit of care. I don't think that's too much to ask?

well why not do that then - you've got an openly racist post on the other page for example, you're right I'm not particularly offended by it so didn't feel the need to RTM it but rather the irony of a racist complaining about islamophobia was particularly retarded that I had to call it out

I'd wager if this was about another topic and someone posted something derogatory about 'blacks' for example you'd see a rather different approach - say there are some riots in London - would someone posting about 'lazy thieving blacks' be left with an intact post and merely told their choice of words was poor and perhaps lazy stealing Jamaicans would be more acceptable?

post something criticising or questioning a particular religion on a religious holiday thread and you'll see deletions, threats of bans and laughable accusations of 'trolling'

Nothing racist about it, it was meant for there leaders. Your nit picking with words, this thread was about the hajj stampede and the usual crew including your self turned it in to a bash Islam thread.

There is no denying that, my singular post regarding the leaders of Arabia was legitimate criticism and linked to the topic we are supposed to be discussing.

If all the times you spouted nonsense about Islam and Muslims were counted you would be the dictionary definition of bigot.

I said one sentence you jump to call me racist. At the same time you still don't seem interested in the original topic but rather on derailing it to what ever takes your fancy.

About as Dystopian as it gets over there. They have the resources and money to make that passage safe but choose not to. It's disgusting really.

We really need to break our Oil dependence so we can plant a cruise missile straight onto these sheikh terrorist overlords.

So would 100% agree that if anyone said "fat lazy British" they are being racist too?

My post only includes one of those words so i don't get where your going with that remark.

Because the original post was fat lazy Arabs.

The fact you decided to change it to fat Arabs so you could say "how is that racist" doesn't change what it was.

Really, did I?

I think you have not read the posts correctly, i never said "Fat lazy Arabs" anywhere and i would not, it was another poster, neither have i changed anything to fat Arabs, so again, what are you talking about? Read the thread before accusing me of posting the above remarks.

yes the thread was about the hajj stampede but you're still continuing to quote me so I'll reply to the points you're directing at me thanks...

you're welcome to point out and correct any 'nonsense' about Islam - but you seem to confuse criticism with bigotry... which again is ironic since you don't actually even seem to grasp when you've made a bigoted statement yourself

Now the Saudis are blaming it on African pilgrims...

Apart from that there will be the usual crowd who will say "it was God's will it's a blessing to die in hajj". Then five years later it will all happen again.

Yeah. We will sadly see a repeat.

Also who decides it's god's will? That's a bit presumptuous isn't it? Almost...blasphemous. From the same logic surely death by drone strike is God's will so people shouldn't get all up in arms about it?

Some big mosque on fire now, not been a very good week for Islam.

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a fire at a mosque complex in south London.
The youths, aged 16 and 14, were arrested earlier on Sunday on suspicion of arson at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden.
The blaze at the mosque, said to be the largest in western Europe, was tackled by 70 firefighters.
An administration building was badly damaged but not the mosque, London Fire Brigade said.
