Parvum Woes

Choking your fans and pump down to anaemic rotation speeds (and thereby cutting flow hugely) is what makes it quiet.

The case has no sound reduction features like baffles to dampen fan noise, you can literally poke a pencil into the (sound generating) blades from the outside.

Only the thickness of the case material can be considered to reduce noise but since there's almost nothing blocking off the case fans you can only consider the case material to assist vs obscured psu, gpu, cpu and pump motors.

Agreed, the case isn't much of a factor. Having the fans and pump spinning at the optimal speed is the key. There's no point having fans blasting away at 80%, thrusting 20c air onto components that are already sitting at 20c.

Speedfan took a bit of sussing out, but works brilliantly. I've got the rad fans reacting to CPU, bottom fans reacting to GPU, and the rest reacting to the Motherboard temperature.
 
I managed to set all fans to constant 500 rpm. they don't go down that low but has made a noticeable differences. With corsair link I managed to figure out the culprits of the fans noise. Its the stock H100i fans I have at the front of the case.

Gonna find some replacements and see what happens from there as I need to make sure my PC doesn't get too hot while gaming.
 
Doesn't surprise me, they have a reputation for being quiet but I've never found it to be the reality - they do shift a fair bit of air though.
 
I'm planning a X99 build in this case, but I really need to get the alignment issues sorted. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking the acrylic might snap if I try to reshape it, so maybe I need to heat it first?

I have never had this with my S2.0, Gene VII and MSI R9 290, but I have seen people on other forums have issues like this. Have you contacted Parvum for advice? They always respond very quickly.
 
I've dropped them an email, and got an auto response about him being out the Country. Sounds like a one man band, which is surprising.

I'll see what comes of it. It's been like that for a few months, so hopefully there's no adverse effects on the card or PCI slot.

I contacted Parvum 2 days ago about a question related to Radiator size and still have no response. Contacted them on facebook today via message and although facebook is telling me they read the message they have found that they do not want to reply to it...
 
Update, Parvum have replied:


We have now fixed the issue, only some batches of the cases had this problem. Oddly a few emails on this over the last month.

Can you please provide address and we can send fixed panels.

Excellent news. They really do look after their customers and fix problems that occur. You cannot complain with the service.
 
Interesting and slightly peeved I had his alignment issue and retired my case because of it

1) Why wasnt his issue broadcasted? I wouldnt have bought another case if I knew this was a known issue
2) When do I get my replacement panel(s)?

I'm beginning to think the Peer 1.0 is also faulty. My one has cracked very easily when screwing in the frosted front panel... I didn't even tighten that much as I was scared of cracking it! The SSD/HD mount also seems to be too large for the case... It pushes up to the motherboard tray and the only way of fastening the screws is to bend the tray! The video doesn't even show how to connect this tray! Very unforofessional IMO that they don't even supply instructions in the box and use a video with horrible music that doesn't even tell you what you need to know:(

To top it off even though my Facebook message has been seen they won't reply... It's really beginning to annoy me.
 
Well I've got an open mind about their customer service and hopefully the new panels arrive quickly and resolve the issue.

As stated previously, I'll update this thread when I've received them.
 
What method did you use to get them? Seeing as no one is looking at this thread, I suppose I'm the one that's going to have to do all the leg work.

They blamed my over tightening for the issue... willing to admit that may well be the case, however EVERY other screw was tightened the same and had no issue. To me it was obviously a week point in the panel!
