G.SKILL Conquers 4000MHz Speed Barrier and Releases New Trident Z and Ripjaws V Series DDR4 Memory.

"G.Skill International Enterprise Co., one of the globe’s leading makers of high-end memory modules, on Wednesday introduced its all-new Trident Z and Ripjaws V families of DDR4 memory modules designed for enthusiast-class systems running the latest microprocessors from Intel Corp. The most advanced Trident Z and Ripjaws V modules are rated to run at rather incredible 3733MHz, 3800MHz and even 4000MHz clock-rates."

Well yeah, it's been designed for Skylake :)

4 x 8 3000MHz seems appealing (if 32 is needed for the coming years on gaming). The gunmetal grey Ripjaws V might be perfect for Asus Z170 ROG. The new heatspreader looks nice too.

I suspect by the time you need more than 16GB for gaming, your CPU won't be up to the job.

Ha ha fair enough mate! Maybe 4 x 4GB 3000MHz (or higher, depending on the price) is the way to go, and get some lower latency versus the higher capacity while I'm at it. Sadly the G.Skill press release only lists 3600-4000 latencies.

Unfortunately Trident Z will not be available until end of August and the 4000MHz kits will likely be never available, they are just a Hero product where only a handful can be produced each month worldwide, that means no availability and an insane price.

Are there any pics of the gunmetal grey Ripjaws V?

Does this mean there will be new quad channel kits coming as well?

More Quad Channel X99 kits are a possibility yeah but many motherboards can't go above what we already have in terms of frequency in quad channel. 3200 is about the limit here of what all MB can offer.

These kits look great but as Gibbo says stock will be very low numbers.

And insanely, insanely expensive that only the elite few will ever be able to afford :(

Gibbo, any update on the GSkill Trident Z kits?

Cheers

We're not bothering, no supply so wasting our time.

Team group 3866MHz is one of best kits we have, Pack had them up to 4250MHz in dual channel. Fastest commercially available kit right now and that is what matters, you can actually buy it.

Kits are few and far between as vendors are struggling to bin them. The TG is good but even they have exceptionally low guardband. I need 1.39v to get them fully stable at XMP. Other vendors might not be happy with letting those go out. That said, it's either that or nothing unless you're willing to wait
