**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

The Huawei Nexus 6p, on the other hand, will start off at $499.99. Again, this would be for the base 32GB storage option for the phone. There will also be 64GB and 128GB variants, but as is the general market trend, these will be more expensive. again, pre-orders for this will go live on September 29th itself in USA, UK, Ireland, Korea and Japan. The Huawei Nexus 6P will feature a 5.7″ WQHD AMOLED display and Snapdragon 810 as well as a USB Type C port.

Also they will only be selling direct from the Google Play Store going from the rumours.

My Nexus 5 barely gets lukewarm when wireless charging. It gets warmer just from having the screen on reading a Twitter stream or something basic like that, never mind gaming or recording a video.

It would be such a shame if it didn't have wireless charging. So far Samsung (and LG?) are the only Android flagships with wireless charging, yes? Nothing on the Z5 range, nor the Moto Xs, apparently nothing on this. Presumably the N5x will?

While it's great to have two Nexus devices this year, it's all a bit of a mish-mash.

My Nexus 6 doesn't get hot at all during wireless charging. I don't recall my Nexus 5 doing so either.
Getting warm/hot is a norm for inductive charging so it should get noticeably warm I'd have thought. My Note4's battery hit I believe it was 49c (I did clarify temps a page or so back) recently and it just had me concerned. It is probably within 'safe' limits but as mention above hot batteries aren't a good thing really.

Really hoping this will be a good, well built phone with decent battery life. I've never had a nexus device before but I've never been impressed with the reports of any of their cameras.

I may be buying the 6P after Google's announcement tonight.

All comes down to a few factors, battery life indication and obviously the price of the 128GB. I think I'd prefer this over a Z5 for sure.

I'll be waiting on hands on reviews, particularly regarding the camera. If this doesn't have wireless charging I'm still edging towards the Z5 Premium or Moto X Style.

Though at this rate getting a Note5 is becoming ever more likely.

I must be daft enough then :p

Not daft. I and many more bought the Nexus 5 on day one and I'm still with mine now, so that didn't work out too daft. I think if what you see in the phone makes you want it, then there's no reason not to order on day one.

The difference this time around, for me anyway, is that there is quite a bit of competition in this area now. Motorola offer a near stock experience and Sony's isn't too far away by all accounts either and both are relatively quick with their updates. There are high-end modestly-priced devices like the OnePlus 2 too, not to mention the plethora of Chinese phones becoming available.

I'm sure I'd be perfectly happy with the 6P, day one or not, but as each of the devices I see have varying flaws, I'd rather take my time and weigh them up first.

to be fair, I brought my N5 day one, and have had no issues with it, same with my N7.

My N9 is another story, and went back within 10 days though lol.

I wonder if it has hybrid IS like Sony's Z5 then, I hope it does! It would be my first Nexus device, and one that I've actually somewhat looked forward to (though only because of the 128GB option... otherwise I'd have skipped it entirely).

I was all set on the N5X, but I'm liking the N6P more now. It just has that 'too big' look that the Note 2 had, but I got used to that quickly.
