As title really I have a 980GTX and seems ok on high but what graphics card play on ultra.

Games like

Squad

Gta 5

I would assume a Titan X/295X2, 980 Ti or maybe Fury X (probably in that order) wouldn't be a bad shout.

The best is a watercooled Titan X. But you might want to wait for the dual 980ti/Titan X - whatever - which is about to come out (a few weeks I think) if you have enough money to spend.

no cards runs it perfect but if you're looking for the best then I'd suggest waiting till next set of cards come out. 980ti is probably best right now realistically (without overspending for little gain such as with titan x) but I imagine there's more to be gained from next series of cards when we get die shrink, hbm2, more dx12 support etc.

if you can't wait then 980ti, if you can then I'd wait a bit longer.

probably the most powerful card is going to be the best one,
if you ask what that is though you might start a 100 pages argument

Do X2 count if he said single card ?

really no card of this generation is competant at 4K 60 as far as I know,
its been about a year since I used 4K though.

Care to explain why, is it more powerful?
980ti performs just 2 or 3% below titan x, short of having 3 or 4 titans you're not likely to need the 12gb vram in 99% of cases anyway either.

Price wise it makes sense to go for a single 980ti if you're not wanting to spend titan prices (as most other cards would struggle solo on 4k anyway) and then you can double up later if you wanted. Fury and 980ti have quite a bit better value than titan though and if you sli'd / crossfired them down the line it's going to be much better price for performance than going the titan route. 980ti / fury at least give you options for the future if you did want to get more performance but titans are kind of just throwing money away at this point and might leave you with little gain but a lot less money so end up further away from getting an upgrade.

GTX 980 Ti is just about enough the truth is nothing really exists which can offer 4K in every game. GTX 980 Ti is just about enough for most. SLI would be twice the cost but not sure twice the FPS due to SLI scaling issues.

Just buy a decent GTX 980 Ti see how you get on.
