Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get insurance to cover everything for a day on the Nurburgring?

I saw an older thread (didn't want to bump a 2 year old thread though) mention it's only open to the public over weekends. Is this true?

Thanks.

Thanks. A friend has found someone that will cover £2k or £4k of track damage. He will call today for some quotes.

Sure, I don't know at this point. It was a late night Whatsapp message. When I have more info, I'll let you know.

I think it's with these guys - http://www.insuremytrackday.com/faqs/

Do you cover damage to the Armco barriers at Nuburgring Nordschleife, as I understand I am liable for repair/replacement costs?

Yes you are indeed liable for damage caused to Armco barriers at “The Ring”. Our track day insurance policy for Nurburgring Nordschliefe automatically includes cover for up to £2,000 of costs for the Armco truck attendance plus removal and replacement of Armco. There is an option on the quote request form to increase this sum insured to £4,000 for an additional premium. In order to verify the claim you will need to provide a copy of the invoice from Nurburgring and you will be reimbursed for the costs.

I'd be interested to hear what the quote it, but if you have a big enough stuff to actually cause Armco damage, £2K won't cover a whole lot! Just look up the prices, and remember that there is nowhere on the Ring with less than three tiers of Armco and you get charged for truck + safety car attendance, removal AND replacement costs (plus track closure if required).

£2K would cover I guess about 10 meters of damaged three-tier Armco...and if you've hit it hard enough to damage that much, just think what you've done to your car!
