Personally I wold only go for 1920x1080 for 15.6" screens. But if your gaming and have a limited budget then a lower res would be better for FPS. The 4K screens I expect would be good for everything but gaming unless you had a really powerful card in the laptop. Issues
I find 1080 to be fine at 15.6". I also have a 13.3" 3k laptop that I run at 1080p as the scaling at 3k is not the best imo (be it Windows 10 or Linux).
1366x768 is fine for occasional gaming, you might wish to head in the direction of AMD APU based laptops as they generally have more graphical grunt at that price range, also second hand/refurbished may yield better intel/Nvidia/AMD graphic combos.
