Which resolution is the best for a 15.6" Laptop? Reason i ask is that i have seen some with a couple of different native resolution. Confused! Ta

What resolutions have you seen to choose from, and at what budgets and usage are you looking at?

Being so vague really doesn't help anyone give you advice... and after being here 12 years you'd think you'd know that by now. ;)

Personally I wold only go for 1920x1080 for 15.6" screens. But if your gaming and have a limited budget then a lower res would be better for FPS. The 4K screens I expect would be good for everything but gaming unless you had a really powerful card in the laptop. Issues

I find 1080 to be fine at 15.6". I also have a 13.3" 3k laptop that I run at 1080p as the scaling at 3k is not the best imo (be it Windows 10 or Linux).

1366 x 768 pixels

This is what i see most. Is that ok?

Looking at getting a cheap laptop for 'occasional' gaming, not high settings etc. Just the odd game.

What spec should i look out for regarding CPU...GPU, onboard graphics. I know a dedicated GPU is better but i cannot go over about £350

1366x768 is fine for occasional gaming, you might wish to head in the direction of AMD APU based laptops as they generally have more graphical grunt at that price range, also second hand/refurbished may yield better intel/Nvidia/AMD graphic combos.

Thank you. I was looking at an AMD A8. Some good reviews on youtube for light gaming.
