I have a 27” monitor (1920 x 1200 - 60Hz) but I am interested in upgrading to 120 Hz or 144 Hz (same size and res.). For Gaming.

I’m not sure if there is much difference between 120 Hz and 144 Hz (is there?) but I am hoping I will notice the difference coming from 60Hz anyway, won’t I?

Also interested in trying FreeSync if possible but there don’t seem to be many freesync monitors.

I haven’t looked at monitors in about five years and am getting overwhelmed with all the different info (great TFT sticky btw, just a shedload of new info for me).

Around £300. Any recommendations?

I wouldn't worry about the difference between 120Hz and 144Hz, if you're going from 60 Hz that's the main thing you'll notice.

Personally I can't tell a difference between 120 and 144. Most people will probably admit the same if asked.
The difference between 60 and 120 is very very good though.

At 27" then you really should be considering 1440p. Your 290x won't have any issues with 1440p, my original titan certainly doesn't. Just turn a couple of settings from ultra to high and you'll be fine.

i can switch from 120-144hz and not really notice any smoothness, only thing is maybe slight slight increase in input lag. The only games i run 144hz is GTA V, war thunder, bf4 etc. Witcher 3, skyrim, fallout etc i run at 120 because it just isnt noticed, no point to have the gpu's push out a further 24hz.

60-120 or 144hz is the wow factor though.
