UK Lotto now only 1 week tickets

Previously it was possible to purchase lotto tickets up to 5 weeks in advance; now this is not the case.

Does anyone know the reason for this change?

Yup, this. 3 lines per week on a direct debit. This is with the Health Lotto, but the Camelot Lotto will take direct debit as well.

At the moment I believe you can only buy 1 week because the draw is changing on the 8th October.

Could well be wrong.

the change in odds is pretty sad :/

~2x harder to win 3 numbers
~2x harder to win 4 numbers
~3x harder to win the other larger prizes

Interesting... didn't know about the changes until I saw these posts.

I wonder if Camelot shot themselves in the foot when they upped the stake to £2 a couple of years back, and now they're trying another strategy? I like the fact that the new game will have a 1-in-10M chance of becoming a millionaire, but decreasing the odds on the lower prizes will make lotto a higher variance game. More risky.
