In terms of test driving the cars you're probably best off asking the leasing company to sort you out with a demonstrator Mondeo (or whatever) for a day or two if it's the car you're most likely to choose. I'd imagine most main dealer salesmen will be reluctant to help you when they find out that you're not planning on buying the car from them.

If you are looking at an Insignia as a company car driver (and I think you should) you can get a three day test drive direct from Vauxhall. See here.
i had a look at them, and read about the 3 day test. Im just not convinced on them personally. I find the specs compared, unless paying extra, dont campare as well. Maybe a bit biased..

How much more is the mondeo going to cost me over the next few years, against itself year on year?
As its 125g co2 is it going to go into a higher VED grade each year?
Worried paying £103 this year and if going up potentially to £150+ after 3rd year...

The VED doesn't change on an existing car? It only changes on a new car... so if the bands change next year, then you will pay the same amount, but someone who buys a 2016 Mondeo will pay the higher amount? Or am I missing something?
He means the BIK tax payable on the company car I assume, which will increase as the years go by.

Yes, every year your tax will go up 2%, so 20% next year, 22% after that, etc.
This will apply regardless of which car you choose. The BIK tax bands are in 5g CO2 steps, and each year the thresholds are moved by 5g. Yes, in 2016/17 they scrap the 3% adder for diesels, so effectively your tax will actually go down 1% if you're driving a diesel car, but then it will go up 2% the next year, and 2% again after that, etc. etc. This is why I quit being a company car driver...it's become an expensive way to not own a car!
