Tesla Model X

I know we are comparing two different types of cars here but...

For that sort of money i'd rather have a NSX. Only a £5k deposit, but the thing is.. All sold ;)

Model S all the way between the Model X though.

Bizarre how smaller engined cars get universally panned... "omg a 4 cylinder Porsche will sound crap and have no personality!", yet a virtually silent electric car is "OMG must buy!!"

The new Tesla roadster when they get round to it in 2017 or so will likely romp over everything unless the other manufacturers pull their fingers out.

Not a chance mate. No matter how far Tesla have progressed with batteries, the demand and prices are not there for Tesla to have a big impact on other manufacturers, give it 5-7 years and it may be different.

That is.. Tesla vs all other vehicles and not Tesla vs Electric vehicles.. Tesla vs electric cars.. Thats interesting

Ever since I read the Elon Musk book by Ashley Vance, I have become a little obsessed with Tesla (and Elon in general). To the extent that I am now on the waiting list for a tesla car and have bought a bunch of their stock. I guess I am officially a fan boy now.

I am very exited for the model X however at the moment I dont have any kids so it seems a little excessive. That said, I imagine that by the time I get a car, I will have a decent sized family !

Just watching the video now, quite impressed and going to go against the grain and say I love the Gull Wing Doors!

I'm a minute and a half in and already sick of the morons in the audience clapping and going "WOOOO!" at the end of every sentence. It's like an Apple event.

Yeah it did spoil an otherwise good presentation.

Would love to get my hands on one to be honest but no way can I afford one.

So, obviously despite it looking like a Ford Focus, it's just a well proportioned gargantuan giant in european terms, like yankie pickup or Escalade big, something that would eat BMW X6 and still have some space in the boot. Presumably it needs to be gigantic for the airfield of batteries. And presumably in European weather zones you'd be lucky to see 140 miles on a single charge, just like Tesla S owners got used to about half of the claimed 240 mile range. Minus 10% if it's UK autumn. And presumably the Tesla charging network still has not materialised (although that unfinished for months charging station at eurotunnel terminal gives everyone hope).

So in short, we are still talking miracle of technology that needs 7 days to take you from London to Edinburgh and back? Now with all wheel drive?
